If you want a budget 5-color mana-base, gates are your best bet. And Gond Gate does exactly what you want. You also get to play some bad ramp cards that get much, much better since you can tutor for gates like Circuitous Route and Explore the Underdark. I have a 5-color deck (Eight Drop Tribal) and it does really pretty well with that mana-base and ramp package. The one thing to note is you'll want to decide if you're going to include Maze's End or not. If you aren't, I would tell people that up front in the turn zero discussion because otherwise it can put a marker on you.

Thank you for your answer. And I have another question ^^. Do you think, that building a Mana Base, out of "Gate-Lands" could be promising? Gond Gate , Baldur's Gate and Citadel Gate, as well as others seem to have a promising Mana-output in my opinion. Although I do not think, that they can reach to the level of the Mana base you build. Just for consideration.

Cheers

I'm playtesting a gates deck right now and I used a The Mycosynth Gardens to copy my Amulet of Vigor and I want to produce extra mana by untapping gates multiple times when I play them. But I have a Gond Gate in play. Can I choose to have the gates enter play tapped so I produce the extra manna?

Also if I put them into play with a ramp spell like Hour of Promise can I choose to have the Gond Gate replacement effect happen first then the tapped clause of the spell second so they enter tapped and trigger the Amulet of Vigor?

Yes, the fact that Cultivator Colossus's effect has you take sequential actions matters. It means Gond Gate's ability will affect the Gates that enter the battlefield after it, namely because they actually are entering after it instead of simultaneously with it.

You can choose the order to apply the replacement effects. If you really want the other Gates to enter tapped (maybe for some Amulet of Vigor shenanigans) then you're allowed to do that.

Say I have a resolving Cultivator Colossus ability, and the first land I put in is Gond Gate. Say I then put in a Rakdos Guildgate.

Now for the most part, effects that put multiple gates on the field will have them all enter tapped, even if Gond Gate is one of them.

But Colossus is sequentially based (if...then repeat), so assuming I applied replacement effects in the correct order, would Rakdos Guildgate enter untapped?

If it does, what order do I have to apply the replacement effects (first in, first out or first in, last out)?

Gond Gate will allow your gates to enter the battlefield untapped.

Another card you may wish to consider is Walking Atlas

@Max_Hammer: I ended up taking it out because of how it counteracts Amulet of Vigor. You can use multiples to actually generate mana. Gond Gate ends up turning it off. I will add Nearby Planet, though! It looks like it's straight-up strictly better Gateway Plaza?

edit: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO IT HAS A PESKY ACORN. Currently not legal in Legacy :(

Try Gond Gate! (:

Nearby Planet is another gate that just got printed.
