Chishiro, the Shattered Blade

Legendary Creature — Snake Samurai

Whenever an Aura or Equipment enters the battlefield under your control, create a 2/2 red Spirit creature token with menace.

At the beginning of your end step, put a +1/+1 counter on each modified creature you control. (A creature is modified if it has equipment or aura attached to it, or has counters on it.)

Mojo, the Blademaster

Legendary Creature - Snake Naga Druid

At the beginning of combat on your turn, if you control another unmodified creature, create a token artifact equipment called Lavaforged Fang with "Equip . Equipped creature has haste and trample." You may equip all tokens created in this way to a Snake or Naga you control. Then, if all other creatures you control are modified, draw a card.

Make another card referencing Mojo. Bonus points if it's either a legendary equipment or his rival.

You're welcome! Glad I could help!

I was able to give you advice due to years playing Tuvasa the Sun Enchantress and Wyleth, Soul of Card Draw.

I did see you put some cards from "March of the Machine Commander" into Upgrades upgraded. Did you consider Shalai and Hallar as a leader for that deck? Chishiro, the Shattered Blade is clunky trying to tie three archetypes, and is serviceable in the 99 of S&H.

About Lorehold Succession, I made a list of upgrades for Osgir, the Reconstructor when my friend was trying it out: Osgir Voltron.

Corrupted precon... I don't know much about poison, but Tomer from MTGGoldfish made an upgrade article for Ixhel, Scion of Atraxa that looks spicy. He said he liked the precon a lot, so I believe he put extra effort on it to make it play smoothly. Link: https://www.mtggoldfish.com/articles/precon-upgrades-for-corrupting-influence-poison-30.

About lightly modified precon, it might be good to stick to the stock decklist to play against other precons or people with lower power decks. The Warhammer Commander aesthetics are unique, and the precon is not weak at all. But in case you want to upgrade it: would you go with Abaddon the Despoiler or another Legend as your commander?

And about The Horrarrr... I'll give it a try. It looks similar enough to Anowon, the Rogue Thief that I probably know what to do with it ;-)

Tarzunga Your deck is sick. I ordered mine today and may take some inspiration from yours depending on how my first few games go. Kosei, Penitent Warlord has done a lot of work in the Chishiro, the Shattered Blade pre-con that I have, so you're right that he could be a better fit but the artwork is just too cool on Isao, Enlightened Bushi to not have him as the commander.

legendofa on New hubs to be added

Opening for discussion:

Kaleidoscope can be added to the Format list. I don't have the admin rights to do that, but I can petition yeaGO or someone to add it. I don't know how popular it is, but the Formats list has all kinds of things I've never heard of.

I think Horde Magic should be moved from a hub to a format. It is a unique format with specific rules, and I believe it's more appropriate there than in the archetype/strategy section.

Life Drain can be added as a hub. The description may be tweaked a little further, but is currently "a lifegain strategy that seeks to win by incrementally and simultaneously increasing its own life total and lowering the opponents' with cards such as Professor Onyx and Ayara, First of Locthwain."

Spell Copy is getting added to the long list. I'm not sure it has the autonomy to be hubbed just yet, but its presence is growing.

Having hubs for both Vehicle and Crew is currently redundant. One is a keyword mechanic, and one is a card subtype. I propose closing the Crew hub and letting Vehicles hold that space.

Is there enough presence for Modified? It seems very niche, a noticeable number of cards come from a single COmander precon, and it's largely covered by Counters, Auras, and Equipment. For now, I don't think it needs a distinct hub; I think it's basically be synonymous with Chishiro, the Shattered Blade Commander. Am I wrong in this?

The Streets of New Capenna abilities Alliance, Connive, Blitz, and Casualty will be added as ability options.

As always, I welcome any feedback, suggestions, or other thoughts.

Ancestral Reckoning

Legendary Sorcery

Target Snake creature you control gains +6/+6, Trample, Vigilance and Double Strike. Whenever that creature deals combat damage to an opponent this turn, untap all creatures you control. After this main phase, there is an additional combat phase, followed by an additional main phase. This ability only triggers twice this turn.

One pre-con focused card begets another pre-con focused card. Wild Card!

I figured this could go in Gear. Please move to a more appropriate location if there is one <3

I just opened the Chishiro, the Shattered Blade precon and got TWO Mossfire Valley, lmao

Did anyone else open this precon yet? Did they also get two? Wondering if this is a one-off mistake or an actual packaging error. Ha.

Unfortunately I was sorting the cards into different piles with other decks when I noticed this, so I am not sure if the deck came with 101 cards or 100 and missing one with a second Mossfire in it's place.

Confusion in the Ranks doesn't let you trade enchantments and then return the aura to your hand. There is no way to get the activation on the stack under the trigger. When your aura enters the battlefield both Confusion in the Ranks and Chishiro, the Shattered Blade will trigger and you can put the abilities on the stack in the order of your choosing. Only after both triggers have been put on the stack will you receive priority and be able to activate the RTH ability. The creature switch still works and is amusing. You just can't mix triggers and activations in the manner you were wishing.

Chishiro, the Shattered Blade is a new Commander from Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty. If you decide to build him, Crown of Flames and Whip Silk will be great staples as they each cost 1 mana and can be returned for 1 mana. This is a cheap and fast way to build out an entire boardstate of 2/2 tokens who have menace.

If they also have haste, such as with Fervor or Fires of Yavimaya, you can also tap them for mana using something such as Cryptolith Rite. What this does is it will effectively double your mana production.

For example, suppose you have enough mana available to you for 3x castings of Crown of Flames and 2x returns, or a total of five mana. With haste and Cryptolith Rite, you can pay and that'll get you a 2/2 token. You can tap the token for to return the aura to your hand. From here, you still have 4x sources left. Each one will get you another 2/2, which can be immediately tapped to return the aura to your hand.

So rather than getting a total of two 2/2 tokens with five red mana, you get five 2/2 tokens. Now they all become tapped, but with any ETB damage effect, this can rapidly hurt everyone.

You can actually go infinite and win the game with this combo, too.

Now when the aura ETB, you get two 2/2 tokens. Tap one to return the aura, tap the second to cast it. It ETB, you get two more 2/2 tokens. Tap one to return, tap the other to cast. Two more 2/2 tokens.

Each time this happens, you stack damage.

It's a complex combo, but with so many redundant cards in Gruul, it'll easily be made.

So if you enjoy these sorts of combos, this one might just be for you.

You can also replace the haste and Cryptolith Rite with Mana Echoes and Chromatic Orrery.

Xenagos, the Reveler immediately comes to mind for far more mana, as does Nissa, Who Shakes the World. Her ability to make Forests add a second partners nicely with Whip Silk. Now each land pays for both the cost to cast and the cost to return. Merely having Nissa and Whip Silk equates to haste + Cryptolith Rite + token doubler.

Want to draw out your library? Boom, now you can.

Want to make sure pesky blue players can't stop you? Boom, now you can.

Want just one more way to deal damage to face? Boom, you got it.

Need some life? Boom, we got you.

Wanna swing for lethal? Boom, we got that too.

:) Gruul Enchantments just became a thing <3
