Anti morph cards?

Modern forum

I have a buddy who plays a "modern" temur deck (it's practically a standard deck with a modern mana base)

He always ruins my day by morphing a fricken Icefeather Aven and bouncing my creatures when I try to attack him.

Now I know there are removal spells that will deal with morphs but when he has the mana open, he just morphs in response, and if you morphs and I respond, my shit still gets bounced because the trigger will resolve anyway

So - are there any cards that will straight prevent him from morphing that stupid card? I play BGx and run the gambit - paths, bolts, decays, you name it, I've got it.

I know I can play cards like Asceticism or things that can make my dudes unable to be targeted, but that seems like an awful Lot of effort to hold up mana juat to make my shot Hexproof in my jund and abzan decks. I have been scouring trying to find something that is both useful in multiple applications and will help me keep my stuff on the board to no avail.

Help?

Icefeather Aven is a 6 mana bounce spell. You should be able to win by just playing more efficiently? And you could play some creatures with ETB triggers to get some value if he bounces..

Sweepers I guess? I mean, just wait for him to tap out and crush him with your kill spells. It doesn't really sound like a bad matchup.

smackjack his deck is aggro enough that it keeps me on my back foot from the get go. What he does is set up a bunch of little deathtouch shits and then when I'm finally done dealing with his crap so I can get damage through its too late.

I feel like I'm damned if I do, damned if I don't. I either spend my resources getting his aggro stuff out of my way while he builds mana to morph his stupid shit or pay attention to his morph stuff and get beat on in the process by an army of 4-power three drops.

FAMOUSWATERMELON I am experimenting with Languish and Sudden Spoiling as it takes care of just about all his stuff but I am trying to find a good balance without taking out all of my own stuff in the process. It's not a hard matchup it's just annoying because no matter what I fricken do he still pulls dumb shit (it's the kind of player he is, he basically plays solely to be a douschebag). Plus he's been playing the same deck for a year and won't play anything else because he keeps winning because people just quit the game cuz he's an asshole.

InfiniteParadoX if I understand the card, if I flip his stuff over, do I get to bounce his stuff or will he get to choose? If he controls it I think he gets the trigger, not me..

Ice considered running Lightning Greaves or something in my sideboard for him or any deck that is heave on removal as well.

Anger of the Gods, maybe? Something down those lines, just wipe the board while he's setting up. Pyroclasm does the same job, and Kozilek's Return can be cast during his end step.

[Exiled doomsayer] If playing casual since you're not completely mentioning if playing modern rules. Otherwise in modern's pool Spellskite tends to be an all around answer for redirecting unfavorable effects. If you're running white I don't really have an idea of your decklist but I assume Suppression Field could work although it's a noncreature so not ideal(generally sideboard tech card). Cards such as Memoricide Infinite Obliteration Praetor's Grasp Nonblack could include Cloudshift for interaction to deal with it as well but it shuts off that turn of attacking without haste. Nevermore from answers you listed. Chalice of the Void set on zero would ultimately stop all morphs from being placed as well as giving you decent options against multiple decks depending on the amount you set it to. If those don't work I can suggest some others.

JA14732 Anger of the Gods is something I have been considering for my jund deck. Kozilek's Return will do no good because I don't play a lot of eldrazi, and anger of the gods is the same mana cost bit does an extra point of damage.

Surferdunks I'm playing a pretty stock abzan and jund list, except I don't have the goyf or Lilianas. They are more creature based than the typical tier one decks, though. I like Chalice of the Void a lot, that might be a great option. Infinite Obliteration is also pretty cool, that in conjunction with the Extirpate I run in my deck and various discard spells would be good to have. Spellskite is cool but it's expensive, but would also be a good sideboard option

I can post the links to my decks if anyone is interested.
