Decision Paralysis

Deck Help forum

I’ve reached an impasse and need your suggestions. Any you make will be valuable.

I’ve been...hoarding cards lately, ordering playset after play set of things to build with, and now that most of them are here I don’t know what exactly to do with them. I’m really in need of suggestions because I can’t make a decision. Below is a list of cards that I have desire to make into something(s?);

Wildfire Eternal

Thought Gorger

Mogg Fanatic

Nahiri's Wrath

Sickening Dreams

Prized Amalgam

Diregraf Captain

Whispering Madness

Psychic Corrosion and,

Flayer of the Hatebound

Obviously I have more cards than this to supplement whatever the plan ends up being and I don’t expect to fit them all together, but if you have any suggestions then shoot. I’d greatly appreciate any ideas. Apparently I’m a netherbeast who has developed the retardations and can’t build a sixty card deck anymore...

What format are you aiming for? You're fine for Modern (and I'm assuming that's the goal) as long as you aren't intent on running Sickening Dreams, as it was only really printed in Torment. The Graveborn is just a reprint set.

Honestly you should probably not build these into anything at all since this sounds like something that could snowball into a large issue. Whenever you want to impulse buy stuff in the future, you'll remember the pile of semi-worthless neat cards that still took $50 out of your finances.

Mogg Fanatic, although used as a wincon in some infinite combo decks, is not that much of a build-around. I would like to see Nahiri's Wrath combo though! Better get to work on that...

Haha Arvail I hear you. These are cards purchased between June and now, and yes I cut down. I’m fully aware of my capacity for addiction. They’re not the only cards I bought either, but I ordered some for my cube and at least Dreams, Wrath and Flayer were intended to go in the same deck...maybe Prized Amalgam. Nahiri's Wrath+ Mogg Maniac seemed fun...Also in the OP I didn’t mean fanatic I meant Maniac.

TMBRLZ No specific format, my play group doesn’t like when they lose before they get to durdle around for awhile...

flayer and amalgam do combo well, so do corrosion and madness. Nahiri and dreams are basically the same card, while wildfire eternal, mogg fanatic and thought gorger are kind of the odd things out.

So there are two decks I can foresee - Sultai Turbo Mill, using green to ramp and empty your hand faster and casting Whispering Madness with corrosion out; Grixis Surveil/Dredge deck with amalgam, flayer, Narcomoeba and Creeping Chill.

Which one of these do you think sets your mind ablaze with the possibilities, MindAblaze?

Well Whispering Madness and Psychic Corrosion seemed fun, and were intended to play together. I even considered Undead Alchemist and Wildfire Eternal for that. Casting zombies and getting mill spells like Traumatize and Mind Funeral for free seemed like a thing to do if I can get the Eternal through.

The other goal was originally to mash Flayer, Prized Amalgam, Sickening Dreams, Nahiri's Wrath and Mogg Maniac into the same shell. I don’t exactly want to only build Grixis decks, despite my love affair with the undead lol. This deck could have Gravecrawlers and Bloodghasts, and would probably benefit from a way to reanimate the Flayers.

It looks like most of the cards here could go into a grix madness spell slinger deck

Unless I wanted to play Esper zombies for the Psychic Corrosion game plan. Varina, Lich Queen could make that really interesting.
