Kaladesh, Conspiracy 2, Commander 2016 changes —Nov. 1, 2016

Kaladesh offers a ton of foils I don't need, but desperately want. Conspiracy 2 gives this deck another Time Warp option, if I want to add another. Finally, Commander 2016 gives my Narset deck.....nothing....unless I'm blind. I rotated some of the walkers, added Static Orb (cause I have the Invention and it should have been in there anyways), added Future Sight (cause it's dumb), and Wipe Away for more interaction.

People who become easily mired in the extra attack phase vs extra turn debate would do well to factor in other players. I can say firsthand playing narset of the infinite turns is boring for the person playing and other people will just flat out refuse to play. I don't need to untap. I bolow up all lands as often as possible with narset because once she's out I don't care. I don't need to draw a card because I can play it for free. Extra attack phases don't require you to cast your free cards until you're done swinging. You can then look your opponent in the eye and say 'hey, want me to start casting this big pile of spells, or are we good?" this is quicker and more satisfying than durdling around taking seven extra turns back to back. I used yu run narset with 5 copy spells and 7 turn spells. Oh yeah she won every game but it took me taking a twenty minute turn in which my friends went and made a cup of coffee. Not saying that's how your deck runs, just referring to this debate in general . I respectfully disagree that time spells are better than attack phases FOR A NARSET DECK

To erendil,

Extra attack steps are fine and if you prefer them, that's cool. However, extra attack steps only matter when you're swinging with Narset. Let's be realistic here. If you're swinging with Narset, then you are probably gonna win the game or just be super far ahead. My problem with extra attack steps is two things: Narset has to be on the field and Narset has to swing unimpeded. The folks that I'm playing with know that a Narset deck NEEDS her to swing and play a ton of counter spells. If she never hits the field or never swings, then I'm not too much of a threat. Thus, why I prefer time warps because they are valuable whether or not Narset is on the field. Extra attack speeds reinforces the victory after Narset swings. I prefer to reinforce my chances of winning when Narset isn't on the field.

Is there any particular reason you don't run Grim Monolith over Mana Vault? It's a slightly better version and can be untapped at any time.

To carpeomniaurum,

Oh, that's easy. That's because I don't have Grim Monolith. I could purchase one, but I've been giving too much love to my other EDH decks at the moment. Also, I want to keep this deck unproxied.

Also, how do you feel about Pact of Negation?

To carpeomniaurum,

I think Pact of Negation is better than Muddle the Mixture 90% of the time. The other 10% is when I blow up lands, time warp, and ,for whatever reason, don't have mana rocks on the field. As a matter of fact, I've been rather disappointed in Muddle.

I find Mass Calcify to be fairly good in Narset. It doesn't hit narset, and wipes away most of the board, leaving behind a couple creatures with 1 opponent. Unless your playgroup loves white, it's fairly often better than hittin wrath of god with narset and having to recast her.

Also I find Smoke to be great, since we only have 1 creature that needs to untap. (Aurelia has vigilance and if generator servant's still out when you haven't played narset yet)
