One of my first decks built around the Defiant Bloodlord with the aim to turn lifegain into direct damage to the opponent.

My initial plan was using the Sultai Flayer in conjunction with the Kheru Dreadmaw to sacrifice creatures with toughness 4 and above.

I then looked at using a Gleancrawler for repeated sacrifice.

Finally I needed a way to cheat these high converted mana cost onto the battlefield. The option I went for was self mill using Satyr Wayfinder and Vigor Mortis .

The last touch I made was to include Blood Tribute as a combo kill with Defiant Bloodlord.

However I am now looking to hone this into a more effective deck. One path is creature based control e.g. Sidisi's Faithful and Brain Maggot.
