Hello, This is an adapted version to a previous deck I made (Wyrms Carnage).
This deck runs heavy on defenders, but I feel like this deck runs its strongest when you don't use said defenders as blockers (weird, I know). But that is not to say that you shouldn't use them or that they are useless, quite the contrary as a matter of fact! The defenders are what make this deck awesome and I feel like they work very well with the other cards included in the previous deck.
So like the previous deck, this one relies on you playing out Panglacial Wurm, though this time you have more options to achieve this!
The first option is to of course play a kodama's Reach or a search for tomorrow. The second option is to play a Gatecreeper Vine as well as using that brutually overpowered axebane guardian to use all the mana you need to make it happen. The third and final option is Collective Voyage (probably swap it with the animist's awakening).
Looking at the deck again you will notice cost cards like dawnglow infusion and primordial hydra, these are good if you have a few owergrown battlements and axebanes on the field as they are great mana engines, not to mention the storage lands that you can pump for even greater effect. Dawnglow is kind of special in the fact that it pairs with axebane's ability better than the other cards in this build. He can tap for of any color of mana for each creature with defender you control. So lets just say, tap him for and gain double the life you would have if you had used battlements.
Your finishing cards are pretty simple, of course you only have 8 creatures that can attack now, but that isn't a problem when you have cards like whispersilk (for primordial hydra), lure (for a fodder creature) and overrun (for leveling the playing field).
And losing isn't too much of a problem unless you are againts a good cancel deck, as in you can prevent mill (elixir of immortality), infect/deathtouch (phytoHydra), and attack power (i.e. death(dawnglow, elixir, phyto, fog)). This deck is more well suited against various decks than its counterpart, thats for sure.
If you like this deck, please give it a like and send me some suggestions, I would love to see what you have to add to it!
