MTG Arena : Constructed Event Results

Format for record is (W - L)

10/3/2019 :

• 5 - 3 : Jeskai Superfriends (using Deafening Clarion ) was a common matchup.

• 4 - 3 : No real way to handle multiple Rotting Regisaur without ample card-draw. Considering going down a copy or two of Scampering Scorcher to include Experimental Frenzy or Chandra, Fire Artisan .

• 6 - 3 : Adding 4 copies of Skewer the Critics and prioritizing enabling spectacle was very beneficial. Prioritize using removal for early drops such as Knight of the Ebon Legion and Gilded Goose before committing to the board.

• 2 - 3 : Kept a few dud hands and drew nothing to help. Gonna chalk it up to the Arena shuffler, as I experienced both too many lands as well as too few.

10/14/2019 :

• 4 - 3 : Good match-ups against Gruul aggro. Narrow losses to Golos Field of the Dead

• Added 1 copy of Experimental Frenzy and cut 1 Scampering Scorcher . This deck runs out of gas pretty quickly without a Light Up the Stage or Chandra, Acolyte of Flame , and I think adding the enchantment will help get to a way to get those last few points of damage.

• Added 2 Slaying Fire to replace 2 Heartfire . The extra mana isn't proving to be as big of a draw back as sacrificing, and provides a decent top deck late game.

10/21/2019

• 4 copies of Runaway Steam-Kin will be added to replace 2 copies of Scampering Scorcher and 2 copies of Chandra, Acolyte of Flame . The goal is to go faster than Simic Ramp style decks, which I can see being the most played deck after today's "Ban and Restricted" announcement.

• 4 copies of Fervent Champion were added to replace 1 basic land, 2 Tin Street Dodger , and 1 Skewer the Critics . This will hopefully help apply pressure when playing against Simic Ramp style decks.

• 1 copy of Slaying Fire will be added to replace the final copy of Skewer the Critics , as it provides a better main deck answer to Questing Beast and Skarrgan Hellkite .
