I like mono-black so i decided to make a mono black deck that dosnt use pack rat because i personally think that it has to many weaknesses. So i used different creatures that give good devotion and are good for an aggro deck. I have used this deck at FNM before and won a few times so it does run well. The main weakness it has is going up agents a deck that can aggro faster than it and some control decks.If the main deco deck dosnt work out then i made an aggro sideboard that works agents all kinds of decks except another black deck
Pharika's Chosen
: 1/1 Deathtouch.....whats not to like about it
Duress: lets you see what in ur opponents hand and get rid of a spell....i know thoughtseize would be better but i dont have any
Rakdos Shred-Freak: 2/1 haste with 2 devo so hes a good devo card and can do some early game damage
Spiteful Returned
: 1/1 enchantment creature with bestow as a 4 drop.....whenever he attacks the defending player looses 2 life so i usualy bestow him to master of the feasts and you have a 6/6 flyer that deals extra damage each time it attacks
Herald of Torment
: an awesome 3/3 flyer that i can bestow for 5. my normal combo with him is play him turn 3 and bestow
Spiteful Returned
turn 4 and swing for 6 total because of spitfuls effect.
Master of the Feast: 5/5 flyer with 2 devo so its a good aggro card early game
Underworld Connections: draw power and 2 devo
Whip of Erebos: 2 devo, all your creatures have life link, and you can bring back any creature from your graveyard into play overall a very good card in my opinion
Crypt Ghast: doubles you mana and has extort so you can slowly steal you opponents health and can play nearly anything you get with underworld connections if you use it on your turn
Abhorrent Overlord: can create a bunch of 1/1 flyers that are almost always a game ender.
Liliana of the Dark Realms
: i like liliana more than Crypt Ghast because she gets me a 5th swamp so i know i can play merchant next turn and crypt ghast can be killed very easly.
Gray Merchant of Asphodel: the main card this deck works around. Build up your black devo and drop this guy to hit ur opponent for that amount and you gain that amount....even deadlier in a multi battle...and he can be a huge game changer
Devour Flesh: my way around hexproof and i can use it to gain life myself if i need to.
Hero's Downfall: can kill any creature without hexproof and planeswalkers
Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx: the better your devo to black the more mana you get and with crypt ghast on the field you only need one swamp to use it and have the rest for anything else you need
If anyone has any suggestions on how to make this deck better i am open to any and all and +1 if you like it.
