The store owner at my lgs agreed to hold pauper tournaments on sunday afternoons, but only if I could make 5 $10 budget decks complete with a sideboard that captures the essence of each color. The plan was to have a 3 round swiss with a purchased booster pack as the fee, and if you wanted to rent a deck it would cost you an additional $1. If you wanted to buy it, the deck would be $15. So I got to brewing.

Introducing the Mono-White version of my $10 budget series! The deck is a rapid fire soldiers deck that looks to put pressure on your oppenent quick and then go wide for the kill. It's very resilient and can hang with the big boys fairly well. Special thanks to Boza for the help.

The first sunday afternoon Pauper event went well, 10 players showed up and two of the deck's were rented. I played Budget Black Control to showcase an additional deck.

The pilot of this deck for the first event was one of the youngest players in the store. With that being said, they still took down Delver (2-1) in the first round pairings. In the second round they got hosed by Affinity (0-2). In the last round if, it wasn't for a few play mistakes and a mulligan to 5 hand, I'm pretty to the deck would have beat Budget Black Control. As it was, the match went to 3 games losing (1-2).

The winner of the event was Stompy going 3-0. Delver came in second with a 3-0 run, but it's last win was against Izzet Blitz that was 1-1 at the time due to an uneven tourney pool of 10 players.
