When I saw Dreg Mangler this was the direction I thought that that card would go in standard. I didn't realize that Zombies would end up using a similar shell. This is my attempt to make that idea a plausible constructed deck.

When designing the curve I picked the most aggressive cards I could find. I was originally interested in Tormented Soul but I realized later I could do better with Rakdos Cackler. Troll, Geist, Mangler for early beats and Thragtusk gives Zombies a real headache and decent finisher. I was considering Nefarox or Desecration Demon for more creature control and that may still be the right way to go but I like how Thragtusk recoups life lost from Geralf's Messenger. Rancor may be over the top and unneccesary if this deck can bring the beats on a quick enough clock. Tragic Slip I prefer over Ultimate Price. Revenge of the hunted if you can miracle could easily win you the game or atleast tilt it in your favor enough to make sure your small creatures get in unopposed. Sever the bloodline I think looks great against zombies but is it?

The sideboard is built with some zombie hate but mostly used to face off against creature that are bigger than ours. Flying creatures like restoration angel and spirit tokens may pose problems. Enter Golgari charm and Knight of Infamy. The charm neutralizes tokens before they get huge or if they already are destroys the enchantments. Plummet is a catch all for others like Griselbrand, Niv-Mizzet, Isperia, or even Angel of Serenity.
