I found the archenemy decks to be too weak for my taste, so I powered them all up while trying to retain as much Gatewatch flavor and balance as possible. This deck is what Gideon's deck morphed into. It's probably the most heavily altered of the four decks as I completely rewrote the theme in order to keep him relevant in the higher powered meta.

As with all the other decks my deck building restrictions were no more than 2-of any non-land card and no more than 1 of any rare. Monetary value is intentionally kept to a minimum.

Gideon's characteristics are Leader of Men and Impenetrable Defense. I've replaced most of his creatures with lower cost ones (mostly dropping the disappointing support mechanic) letting him have a credible offense going as early as turn 2 and getting him get more value with his Mentor of the Meek. Other notable additions along this theme are Captain of the Watch and Marshal's Anthem. On his other characteristic axis he has cards like Safeguard and Blessed Alliance to help keep his allies alive. Of the three he tends to put the most early pressure on Bolas while later on he can pump a single creature into the stratosphere with Armored Ascension or fog multiple creatures with Safeguard. Between offense and defense, Gideon always has something useful to do.
