Credit to Teddybrosavelt for making a hyper budget undying control deck! I'm trying to extrapolate on it and compete in a friendly league that brings a $10 deck and then adds $10 to it each meetup. We end it at $40-50 at TCG low prices currently.

The league uses the modern card pool to rein in the degenerate things you can do on the cheap in a slowed down legacy environment with no side boards.

After round one with a 6-2-1 record, I really wanted to change up the deck to favor a more aggressive playstyle and hopefully shore up its weaknesses to combo and flyers.

The current change up plan is to drop the six black cards, two ferropedes, and 13 black mana sources for 4x Young Wolf and 4x Strangleroot Geist, as well as 4x R/G gainlands and 9 Forests. I'm not sure what I'm taking out for Rancor, but it's fairly necessary for the aggressive retooling, so 4x of those. On TCG and Cardkingdom pricing, that totals out to 9.01 for the 16 cards, with Forests being free. with the remaining .99, I am on the fence about getting some kind of artifact/enchantment destruction, as there is an artifact combo and a couple enchantment leaning decks in the pod. But I could also get some better lands in the deck, possibly.

The other route I've thought to take is to double down on the black and red. Remove the Culling Dais and put in Scarscale Rituals to reset the undying creatures while still drawing cards, perhaps take out the Flayers of the Hatebound for Heart-Piercer Manticores, go up a Demonlord of Ashenmouth, and get a couple Cut//Ribbons in the deck to increase the likelihood of getting aggressive with a drain finisher. I haven't found enough creatures to make the deck churn along until I can get a Lightning Coils online and swinging with 3/1's, however.
