A midrange deck made by stuffing in a bunch of crocodiles in one deck, this list takes advantage of -1/-1 counters to power up and abuse certain synergies.
The core of the deck is to get
Channeler Initiate
or
Crocanura
out early, then follow up with either
Crocodile of the Crossing
or
Baleful Ammit
. These counters allow you access to more mana with the Initiate and can be shrugged off with Crocanura's Adapt ability.
Midgame, your priority is to play
Tenacious Hunter
to trigger off of the -1/-1 synergy, giving you an efficient and aggressive minion that can take a real bite out of either your opponent or anything that tries to block it. Combined with Crossing Croc, you can press for precious damage, as well as providing larger bodies against smaller creatures. At the top of the curve, and the food chain,
Scaled Behemoth
closes out the game as a massive end-game threat that is very resistant to removal thanks to its Hexproof. Even if your opponent manages to topple it,
Dukhara Scavenger
can fetch it out of the graveyard and back into your battlefield next turn.
Complimenting the crocodiles' -1/-1 synergy is
Scarscale Ritual
, which provides cheap and efficient card draw while also powering up our -1/-1 lovers like Initiate and Hunter, as well as
Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons
, which can quickly spiral out of control early with tons of slithering, venomous snakes to aid in your crocodiles' feast.
Grasping Dunes
also rounds out the -1/-1 synergy while also providing mana early.
Finally, utility cards like
Blossoming Defense
and
Vanquisher's Banner
add both protection, power, and additional card draw due to a very large portion of the deck being crocodiles.
Fatal Push
,
Never / Return
, and
Status / Statue
provide removal against tougher threats, with added utility.
