In this deck, pain is pleasure for you, though your opponent might not be so kinky. With a heavy dose of burn spells that affect creatures on both sides of the table, as well as creatures that don't mind taking a little damage, your opponent will find it hard to keep their creatures on the board, let alone get damage by your defenders.

CREATURES

Gilded Goose : Ramps into the bevy of 3-drop options in the deck on turn 2, regardless of color, and provides a life gain engine for grindier games.

Boros Reckoner : Has to be one of the most annoying creatures in the format. Your opponent won't want to block it, attack into it, or really have anything to do with it at all. Unfortunately for them, there are plenty of ways for this deck to make his trigger happen anyways.

Hornet Nest : Another annoying blockade that will seriously slow down any attack, whether in its initial nest form, or as the army of deathtouch-flyers that will be left in the wake of your burn spells.

Ripjaw Raptor : Beefy carnivore that can survive any of the non-Extinction (fittingly) self-burns in this deck, providing card advantage in the process.

Archangel Avacyn  : Top-of-curve option that goes over the top to finish off the opponent. Unlike the rest of the creatures, who enjoy being on the receiving end of pain, Avacyn dishes it out after transforming.

REMOVAL

Chained to the Rocks : Since most of the removal is based around burn & fight mechanics, this takes care of fatties & indestructible creatures. With maxed-out Shocks & some basics, there are plenty of Mountains around.

Reckless Rage : Undercosted, targeted burn that has a "downside" of damaging your own creatures.

Dromoka's Command : The fight mode is basically a 2-for-1 waiting to happen with Reckoner & Raptor. Against fatties, Reckoner & Nest can turn your opponent's Timmy tendencies against them with ridiculous damage or Insect output. The +1/+1 counter shouldn't be overlooked either, as it puts Reckoner out of range for all non-Extinction burns & allows the Nest to survive Rage & 2-color Radiant Flames. Probably doubtful that you'll ever use the "prevent damage" mode.

Radiant Flames : Controllable sweeper that can be maxed out to get the most out of Nest & Reckoner triggers, or scaled down to ensure your creatures survive while still providing some additional value.

Deafening Clarion : Another sweeper that is less controllable in terms of damage, but also offers a way to gain massive amounts of life to shut the door against aggro.

Star of Extinction : I mean, Reckoner. How could you not throw one of these in there.
