Putting card on top of deck

I am trying to use Unexpected Results to cheat in Worldspine Wurm . My only idea so far is to use Courser of Kruphix to see the top deck and hope its a Worldspine Wurm . So is there any card I could use to search for Worldspine Wurm and put him on top of the deck?

Considering you have to shuffle before revealing the top card, I don't see how you could do it without literally cheating.

...Unexpected Results doesn't care about the current top card of your deck, since it shuffles your library, THEN reveals and plays the card immediately.

The card isn't called Expected Results.

Not in conjunction with Unexpected Results there isn't. This is because once you start to resolve the spell by shuffling your library, no other spells or abilities can be played until it completely resolves. You can't cast Unexpected Results and shuffle your library, then cast Worldly Tutor before you reveal your top card.

Don't listen to Unforgivn_II, Jimhawk, or ljs54321! It's absolutely possible.

Here's what you do.

  1. Play Jace, Memory Adept . Mill yourself until you have no cards left.
  2. If you mill Worldspine Wurm , he'll shuffle back into your library immediately.
  3. Cast Unexpected Results .

You can also use Bow of Nylea to return any creature or whatever to your deck after you mill yourself out to have the same effect. Might wanna have an Elixir of Immortality in the midst though, as this strategy is so juicy that it just might kill you.

Or you could mill them until they have no cards left. That works.

Unforgivn_II Where's the fun in that? :D

It's all about Worldspine Wurm. It's not just a choice. It's a lifestyle choice.

I never thought of doin it that way -Logician. I usually think of the weirdest way to make things work like comboing Tamiyo, the Moon Sage 's Emblem with Dream Halls , Steady Progress , and any blue card to ultimate Jace, the Mind Sculptor the turn I cast him.

Besides Elixir of Immortality , Laboratory Maniac would also protect you.

I don't find losing to be fun

Laboratory Maniac isn't in standard. It's all about trolling the new players at uncompetitive standard FNMs.

I keep forgetting that. That's why I don't find Standard any fun...small card pool and you gotta worry about rotation shredding your decks every year. That's why I generally stick to EDH and starting to get into Modern.

Noxious Revival after Mind Rot ting yourself if you're talking Modern.

Here's the way for Standard.

Mind Rot yourself for a Worldspine Wurm or two into the graveyard. Play Champion of Stray Souls with two random unlucky a**holes. After you play the Champ, use his ability to sac the two creatures and toss the Wurms onto the battlefield. Hilarity ensues.

Oh, except for its graveyard ability. Balls.

tastytaste says... #15

-Logician self milling seems fun but a little backwards haha. @TheNinjaJesus to bad about the graveyard ability or that would be a nasty combo. Imagine if you could use Whip of Erebos on a worldspine!

ljs54321 says... #16

TheNinjaJesus: I'm assuming the Champion of Stray Souls are already in play when you Mind Rot yourself so you can activate it with Worldspine's shuffle ability on the stack? Otherwise Worldspine Wurm 's ability will shuffle itself back in your library before you can cast the Champion.

March 20, 2014 11:49 p.m.

TheNinjaJesus says... #17

Oh! So you can use the stack for that ability. Basically, the moment it enters the graveyard, you can instant the Champ's ability? Because that strategy still works, then.

March 20, 2014 11:50 p.m.

TheNinjaJesus says... #18

In both ways! because Noxious Revival's an instant, so you can mind rot, before you shuffle it back in, Noxious Revival it to the top of the library, next turn, Unexpected Results?

ljs54321 says... #19

Yeah, you just worded it a little backwards. Triggered abilities go on the stack and can be responded to before they resolve. So if Champion of Stray Souls is in play, you can get Worldspine Wurm into the graveyard, put his shuffle trigger on the stack, then activate Champion to bring him onto the field.

March 20, 2014 11:54 p.m.

As discussed at the top of the page, you can't set up an Unexpected Results. Because you have to shuffle no matter what, it's going to be random every time. Unless there's only one card in your deck.

Step 1: get wurm, results and something that will discard a card into your hand.
Step 2: Selective Memory your whole library of non land cards.
Step 3: Cast Treasure Hunt for your whole library
Step 4: Use your discard thingy on the wurm, shuffling it back into your library
Step 5: Cast Unexpected Results , getting the wurm out.
Step 6: Lose as you can't draw a card next upkeep :/

KingSorin says... #22

Note that this combo costs 10 mana all up, so you're saving 1 mana off the warm that's already in your hand (and the discard thing probably costs more than one mana)

That's the best strategy in the history of magic KingSorin
