I love this card just because of the art.
But trying to make it actually usefull is kind of hard. This is what i came up with so far Hexing ma Parasite.
Anyway the problems are the following:
-Counters. what do i take them from. Infect just seems like the best option to me.
-Mana. Hex Parasite not only eats counters but also one mana for each so we need to get that fixed too.
-blocking. he can be blocked, but theres trample and unblockable to get around it.
If you know any cards that can help with these problems please tell me and maybe we can make something good happen here :)
Its one of my favorite cards too! xD I bought foils in standard just cause of that.
Only think I ever found note worthy is eating a counter off of Garruk Relentless when he enters play, so yeh can use his other abilities immediately.. Too slow for modern though.. Im certain.

Hex Parasite is actually an okay sideboard card because modern has several counter happy cards. It can take counters off an opponents Liliana of the Veil then swing in to kill it, as well as stop AEther Vial, and shut down Infect. The key thing to remember is that Hex Parasite is a utility card, and an enabler, not necessarily a combo engine like Krark-Clan Ironworks. (Also you can activate the ability the turn you play it which is key)

I always imagined he'd be fun with a Dark Depths or a Mikaeus, the Unhallowed.
Generally though whenever I play him in my Glissa, the Traitor edh deck I am underwhelmed. There has been a couple times where he spot removed some planeswalkers for me, but most of the time its just a 1 cost 1/1. The threat of Hex Parasite is more frightening I think.

Thx for all of your comments so far.
I studied up on some combos with Hex Parasite and found the following (please tell me wich ones are the best and synergistic):
-Geralf's Messenger with Bloodflow Connoisseur (maybe Blood Artist or Zulaport Cutthroat) for semi-infinite lifeloss combo.
-Quillspike (without Hex Parasite) and Devoted Druid for an infinite combo for a giant crearure.
-Near-Death Experience with Hex Parasite with 0 mana activation to remove 0 counters but pay 2 life for the phyrexian mana and wither a painland (like Llanowar Wastes) or Blightsoil Druid for the exact one life.
-Protean Hydra for one/or two giant creature.
-Death's Shadow for a giant creature (again pay 0 but 2 life for phyrexian mana).
What do you think are the most reliable in one deck?

I also like the idea of using it to control counters on Descent into Madness for a prolonged period of time.

That's cool, I hadn't seen this card. The closest I knew of was Vampire Hexmage.
Would this work in a suspend deck by removing time counters?

Scrap that, they're exiled and wouldn't count as permanents. huh. :\

I love this card. I use mine to kill Planeswalkers in EDH. It's hilarious to me to kill everyone's PWs with a one drop "junk rare".
