Is sword of feast and famine really a good buy

So I'm wondering is Sword of Feast and Famine really worth the money to spend to put it into my Balan, Wandering Knight deck Balan, one-punch man. I could theoretically buy the card, but it's a LOT of money, pretty much could buy Land Tax and Teferi's Protection for the same price, give or take.
DragonSliver9001 I mean I know I should quit letting you bait me but there's nothing inefficient about only needing to worry about one color lol, magic is a more versatile game than your giving it credit, so yeah I will do me thank you, (and to everyone else yes I know the ur dragons are technically "better" they were built that way to make ppl want to buy them, zirilan was printed well before edh was even a format, and he's a vashino anyways lol not a dragon... k I'm done on that topic lol, sry for the multiple rants:) )

Ignoring people being foolish and precious about their deck. On the subject of FaF.
If you get it I would also suggest looking at getting a package around it. Its a fun powerful card that I often toss into decks to fill out the 99 but it sounds to me more like you want it as a power card? Looking at the deck you already have the package tho so nothing else I can really suggest besides in future do this.

Vash13 the inefficiency comes from not having access to keep components of the other colors. Mono red struggles with enchantment removal, land ramp, and pure card draw. I think he was baiting you, but I wasn't trying to say your strategy is invalid by any means.
LeaPlath I don't mind the lovely discussion personally. I did order my SOFAF, the list won't be updated until I've put it in my physical list, which will happen as soon as the card is delivered. I have a decent tutor package for a number of reasons, getting Swiftfoot Boots, Lightning Greaves, or another key equipment is important so that I can get Balan down and swing in right away. I mainly seen out haste, evasion, or protection for the big girl. That being said, SOFAF is a protection equipment so it may well become a target for tutors. Honestly though, it's going to be a power card but not a key component of the deck. Balan needs to get to 11 power and become unblockable in a VERY small window so she can one shot opponents

Monomanamaniac your absolutley right my good sir, the whole point of that deck is to give me a challenge, just putting in all the "best" cards is boring to me and would make the game stale so that's how I keep it fresh, by doing things that are not usual or traditional so I gotta work a little harder for the win, (I run meren stax as well and it can win t3 sometimes and it sees less play than I thought it would cause it's boring most the time, get a good hand and the mystery is gone like "oh well.. either I get countered or we'll all be scooping in a couple minites") otherwise we'd all just play the same decks over n over racing for the game winning card, been there, done that, it sucks lol. My other problem I ran into with over achiever decks is that no one else feels like they can have fun or try anything new which is the whole reason commander was invented, to play all those cards that never would see play in other formats.

Vash13 I like Balan because I don't do much to slow my opponents down. I have removal, but it's for cards that interfere with my gamelan, I have a counterspell, but it's for counterspells lol. Balan does end the game quickly, but I use politics to give the table a sense of "ok, who do we all agree is the strongest player?" then I knock that player out, and when she's not in play on definitely not the biggest threat. (Though no matter how big a threat I really am the act of killing a player in one shot turns the table on me every time) The whole deck is pretty fair, it's just got a completely broken commander who occasionally one shots the table one player at a time. Of all the mono-colored decks my favorite is green, but I don't play it because its honestly not very fun. I also run multi -colored decks which I think are even more fun. I would never run stax though, you show up to the table to play and it's never fun when someone shuts you out early and locks you out of the game. I Honestly don't run enough interaction in my decks as is, because I want to play my cards and I want everyone to feel like they got to too lol

Monomanamaniac ngl I doubt it'd be unplayable. Did more gameplay of it and it's stupid good. Any deck that runs nearly no creatures gets like 2-3 a turn cycle that either act as a straight chump-blocking, walker-destroying, and threatening board state or used in combination with sacrifice outlets or Skullclamp for an insane value engine.
The lands are just incredible too, letting you pull of a good equivalent to Land Tax/Burgeoning and have them all untapped on your next turn, and all in 1 card.
Just a bit below cEDH standards, however has a shot there. In more casual settings it's just insane

SynergyBuild oh it's going to be a god send for mono-white. It's definitely playable, I was just pointing out how tragic it is that it's the best land ramp that has ever been printed in mono-white. I think it'll be in cedh lists

Monomanamaniac actually I think it dumps on Oracle of Mul Daya, etc. it's so good, better than Smothering Tithe, the other consideration for best 4 drop ramp engine, also in white.
I actually think white has some of the best ramp, but it's wayyy to expensive xD
Sorta ironic, right?

SynergyBuild I think it's better than Oracle, but if you think it's better than smothering tithe you probably haven't been up against too many wheel decks. It doesn't exactly guarantee you extra lands every turn, nor creatures, but it often will net you a land or 2 going around the table. Smothering tithe might not give you permanent ramp, but if one player is drawing up their deck then you can at least keep up with them in mana.
White does not have good ramp. Most of the true ramp is like 4 cmc, and even Land Tax isn't ramp. Most of the good ramp is green or colorless lol. If they keep updating White's ramp with cards like this new guy I'll probably change my tune, but the creators feel like token generation is White's card draw and lands to your hand is its ramp. Even putting the stipulation of "if an opponent controls more lands then" ramp feels kinda cheap

Monomanamaniac I've played and crushed with Tithe, and additionally know it's power on the opponent's size, however may have misspoke. I think it might be better, not is better. I didn't clearly carry that word from thought to thought!
Again, white doesn't have good early ramp w/o artifacts, but just artifacts are fine in competitive tables for any color, and the other non-green colors rely on them just as much, and adding in the fact that white adds Noble Hierarch, Avacyn's Pilgrim, Faeburrow Elder, Smothering Tithe, and now this to some of the multicolored decks using it, white adds to ramp, while often not on it's own, at least in perspective to other colors.
Weirdly I'd claim it's 2nd or 3rd best at ramping in cEDH, but that's more due to the metagame than as a whole.

SynergyBuild only time will tell. I know I'm getting a copy of it asap, but not for prerelease prices lol. It might be on the same level as tithe, but it'll never get over it.
Now I can agree that white multi-color does decent in ramp, and I'd go further to say is the best color combo for ramp and draw. I still think in mono-colored white is the weakest color in most regards lol

Monomanamaniac if that card was green it would be another Sylvan Primordial and be banned as well lol
