Hi everyone!
This is my first time creating a Budget Modern format Control-ish Midrange-ish Blue Black Faerie deck. This deck is still more or less a work in progress and any help would be appreciated!
So. What and why this deck? Well after having a bit of a fallout with a janky ninja deck decided to see what other creature archetype were available. And I feel that Faeries as a creature archetype encompasses everything that I like in MtG. Their primary colours are blue and black. Most of them are cheap flyers and can mostly can work with midrange and/or control decks.
Now without further ado. Lets delve into this deck.
What is this deck's win condition?: The primary win condition for this deck is to Deal consistent damage with the Faeries in the sky while controling the opponent's board with spell and creature removals.
What are the cards that will help me get there?: other than having small faeries pinging from the sky but it'd be most optimal if I get the 2 core cards in play. Wydwen, the biting gale and Oona's Prowler. These two would help me accelerate the opponent's clock by constantly dealing at the very minimum of 3 damage in the sky. Now 3 damage doesn't sound like much but with the help of Glen Elendra Leige, Scion of Oona, and Favourable Winds those damage does way up. All of my creatures get at least a +3/+3 boost on top of Shroud.
Whats in the sideboard?: Gotta be honest with you. Sideboard making is basically my kryptonite and any help optimizing this would be appreciated.
I put Faerie Macabre in order to deal with decks with graveyard interaction. I know what youre thinking. There are so much cheaper alternatives like Tormod's Crypt why this card? Well I like having that extra body on the field and I feel like exiling 4 cards in the graveyard at max is more than enough to stop or at least slow down my opponent.
Ingenious Infiltrator due to his guarantee damage and the cantrip. Also having a ninja in a faerie decl brings it full circle on a personal as I have put several faeries in my old ninja deck.
Life's Finale isnt the best Wrath in the game but I just really like it. But I'm also open to change this with a mich cheaper alternative.
Fatal Push is a pretty strong removal and since I'll be dropping cheap flyers at all times I can trigger revolt if i want to.
Violet Pall. I just have this to keep the Faerie theme going..
Blink of an eye. I feel like this is a strong soft removal or I can use this to protect my own creatures.
