For Dallie's Ultimate Guild Challenge: Boros, I submit Boros .... control?

I started out with Assemble the Legion as my intended win-condition, and I worked from there. It somehow ended up being essentially an Arrest/Sphere of Safety deck. Having 3 Sphere of Safetys (without any of the other enchantments!) means that they would have to pay 9 mana per creature to attack. It's under conditions like that that Gideon, Champion of Justice becomes an alternate win-con. There may be situations where it seems tempting to activate his +0 as soon as he comes out (when he's at 4). This is almost always a bad idea: getting him above 4 is crucial, as there are a lot of instants in this meta that deal 4 damage. He becomes a win-con with his -15, as him becoming a creature likely won't do anything: the opponent should have plenty of stalled blockers...

General thoughts: Getting as many extort triggers as possible with Blind Obedience is likely going to be critical to stay alive. The life-gain from Lightning Helix should also be very helpful. Interestingly, the direct damage from those two cards and Demonfire can also serve as a tertiary win-con if it really comes down to it (obviously only play it if it'll deal lethal against the control mirror). The only other source of life-gain is Faith's Fetters, which we want to use sparingly in order to catch an opponent's non-creature permanent with it. Seal of Fire and Soul Tithe are just good, cheap removal that happen to be enchantments while they are on the board. Using them correctly isn't always the easiest thing, though, so be sure to always account for whatever options the opponent has in terms of creature toughness/mana available. A lot of the time, the correct move is just to use them up as immediately as possible, especially since most of the meta should be aggro.

Last thought: I've been trying to reduce my vulnerability to Leave No Trace , but that's honestly the scariest card out there for this deck still, I think.
