Mycosynth lattice makes it so you can activate Muzzio infinitely.Nice deck.

wait...what!?!? how does it do that?

June 30, 2015 8:28 p.m.

BaneOfShadows says... #3

Because you can spend colorless mana as blue, so if you have infinite mana combo like stated above, you can get infinite activations.

June 30, 2015 9:56 p.m.

Mastertoa says... #4

i get how it makes infinite blue mana, but muzzio taps for is activation. since the way to make infinite myr requires that they all end up tapped, there is no way i can see to provide infinite untaps, and as such, i am limited to the numbers i can get from combining my non-infinite techniques

Mastertoa says... #5

wow... I just realized that the infinite myr combo can be used to make infnite untapped myr when used in a legal way. Who knew that the combo made by following the rules is better than the one made by inadvertently not doing so???? Apparently not me. xD

You can't run Mercurial Chemister in this deck. It has a UR color identity, and your commander only has a U color identity.

read the description. the mercurial chemister is an alhammarrets archive, the unreleased card from Magic Origins

July 1, 2015 5:17 p.m.

thought the Archive already had a card page. whoops, my bad.

July 1, 2015 5:19 p.m.

@Mastertoa

Alhammarret's Archive. It does have a page up. :P

Another great thing to pull with Muzzio is Blightsteel Colossus. Yes, a bit less fair than Darksteel Colossus, but it's an idea

This deck list is not fully up to date. Blightsteel Colossus has been in my paper deck for a while

With the infinite Muzzio activations, the idea is for turning Muzzio into an artifact by using Mycosynth Lattice and untapping during each untap step with Unwinding Clock. So you can activate Muzzio on each person's turn. This will make it faster for you to get out more stuff. Another way you could do this is by playing Unwinding Clock to untap Thousand-Year Elixir which is used to untap Muzzio.

i use liqumetal coating/lattice for that very same thing, but thanks for the advice

You are welcome. Have you checked out my deck recently?

I suggest finding a spot for Teferi, Temporal Archmage.

Have you looked at Fabricate, Trinket Mage and Treasure Mage as tutors? Maybe a Rite of Replication? Kicking it on Myr Battlesphere or a Blightsteel Colossus is fun.

August 26, 2015 4:46 p.m.

Mastertoa says... #18

i really should obtain a Rite of Replication. thank you for reminding me of that. part of my philosophy when building this deck was to have an extremely large number of artifacts, such that muzzio almost always hits, and to make almost all of them good enough that i want them in any given situation. while this is not strictly feasible, Treasure Mage and Trinket Mage both dilute that number, and unfortunately put the artifacts into my hand, which doesn't do muzzio much good (at least not until i get my hands on a scroll rack). thanks again

For Liquimetal Coating + Muzzio, Visionary Architect + Unwinding Clock , is there actually an opportunity between the end of one turn and the untap step of the next to make Muzzio into an artifact? The timing required for this manoeuvre may need a very close look at the rule book.

My card suggestions:

Contagion Engine would help spread -1/-1 and poison counters.

Dross Scorpion + Pentavus plus any artifact that produces 3 or more mana = infinite colourless mana.

Mastertoa says... #20

perhaps it doesn't work. ill just use mycosynth lattice then. thanks for the advice though

If you get stuck with artifacts in your hand, then use Master Transmuter. It helps out a lot.

September 27, 2015 12:49 p.m.

Mastertoa says... #22

i happen to use Master Transmuter quit often. Scroll Rack is great for when i have artifacts in my hand too, because i can put them on top and draw new cards and play them with muzzio.

I'm working on a different deck soon. I'm thinking Izzet with buyback, overload or both. Thoughts?

i would wait until the commander 2015 decks come out. they are going to be 2 color pairs, and i believe one will be izzet. in the meantime, Jhoira of the Ghitu works well with big artifacts. Keranos, God of Storms is a great 1v1 control commander. Nin, the Pain Artist is a personal favorite, and could be hilarious with Sphinx's Tutelage. Melek, Izzet Paragon is a good spellcaster commander, who can be quite funny and awesome. i would go with nin though, because she is removal and draw all on a low costing commander.

There's going to be an Izzet commander deck?! How do I read about that? Izzet is the guild that felt the most like a mage than any of the others. At least when it comes to the idea of a battlemage.

Keranos, God of Storms is good but certainly seems to do best with 1v1 while I play more multiplayer than anything else.
