The purpose of this deck is taking advantage of the new Awaken mechanic in Battle For Zendikar. I haven't see any Awaken decks so here's my attempt at making one.
This deck uses Awaken (obviously) and some mana ramp because casting for the Awaken cost isn't always easy, but with a lot of mana it should be a breeze.
Main Cards
-ANY CARD WITH AWAKEN: utilize the Awaken ability whenever you can! There is mana ramp in this deck for a reason, so casting for the Awaken cost shouldn't be too hard.
-Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper: with all the sorcery spells, you will have a ton of counters to put on your lands. Too bad he is a legendary creature so we can't have a bunch out on the battlefield.
-Halimar Tidecaller: gives all your lands flying, which makes them even harder to block.
-Planar Outburst: a great board wipe just in case your opponents have a huge board state. Also all of your lands will live.
-Scatter to the Winds: a counter spell, which is always nice, but it comes with Awaken so use it at your own will.
Helpful Cards
-Lumbering Falls/Shambling Vent: you can put counters on these cards with Awaken, and you can turn them into creatures with lifelink or hexproof, making them even better.
-Animist's Awakening: mid-late game you can reveal a bunch of land cards (yes land cards, so Lumbering Falls and Shambling Vent will work) and put them onto the battlefield for more mana ramp.
-Nissa, Vastwood Seer
: it shouldn't be too hard to get her to flip. When she does, if you can use her -7 you will basically win the game because of all the land creatures you control.
-Oblivion Sower: not only do you get more land to Awaken, but you get your opponents land so they will be at a disadvantage.
-From Beyond: creates 1/1 tokens to block, but more importantly use to generate mana to cast cards for their Awaken cost.
-Frontier Siege: good for mana ramp and for Awaken cards.
-Hardened Scales: casting for the Awaken cost gives that many +1/+1 counters. Using this card we can abuse the Awaken ability and put more +1/+1 counters on the land when we cast for the Awaken cost.
