Playtest shows that Shred Memory is more usefull because of it ability to remove cards from grave and transmute.

Nice, Kamael, It's almost a cheap man's Demonic Tutor (ish...not really). Might think on that.

I like the Torpor Orb concept a lot. Unfortunately I didn't think of a way to get the Orb out faster. But looking at your creatures I feel like Sky Swallower is a bit too risky. If the opponent manages to get rid of Torpor Orb when the Swallower is on stack it will probably be game. You might consider replacing it with Hunted Phantasm . Of course it is way weaker, however it is unblockable, more cost efficient and doesn't have the downside of losing all other permanents.

Thanks Neoxtreem. I was thinking of taking him out, perhaps for Dark Ritual to have a (very slim) chance of a turn 3 win or Phyrexian Dreadnought if I can get my hands on a judge foil. Hunted Phantasm was in the deck for a while but I cut it because it...just didn't cut it.

I've been running a very similar deck (Black Orb) and having a lot of fun with it. I went the Sundial + Orb route and put in a few cards to take advantage of the Sundial's mechanics. Including Sundial would open up some other creature options like Dross Harvester .

Thanks yad. Sadly, Sundial never worked nicely for me. It's great in a white blue build.

Diabolic Tutor might help you get out the win con you need.

Or Demonic Tutor , but that's damned expensive. Thanks AjaxPancakes

I think you could probably cut the Glistening Oil , Aqueous Form , and Treacherous Pit-Dweller . I run a very similar deck (Black Orb) and found that the Trample damage is often more than sufficient. I'd suggest taking a look at Unearth and/or Essence Harvest . Swing for 12, then drain away 12 more!
Like the deck and the use of infect +1!

Great idea on Essence Harvest , yad. I only use modern borders - is there a promo of Unearth or something?
June 24, 2014 12:36 p.m.
I have no idea if Unearth
was ever released as a promo card. I'll leave it to others here to chime in on that :)

And sadly, Unearth only has the UL printing. Would be cool if they brought it back in the next reprint set.

Unfortunately, no Modern border for Unearth . But I definitely second the motion to add Essence Harvest . Lol I can see the look on the opponent's face when you turn 1 Phyrexian Dreadnought . SCOOP!

Spoils of the Vault so you can get Torpor Orb first turn

What are the Dimir Infiltrator for? It looks like the only thing you can Transmute for are the Fabricate. If that's the case, why not drop the Infiltrator and add two more Fabricates? Or drop the Infiltrator and add two Essence Harvest :) Swing with Dreadnought and then Harvest for 24 damage total.

Dimir Infiltrator transmutes for Hunted Horror, Phyresis, but most importantly Torpor Orb. The transmute cost is 3, but it searches for a 2-drop.

CrovaxTheCursed. I used it for the longest time but found turn 4 was far too late to play my combo in legacy

Yeah, you would probably better off with Vampiric Tutor or Demonic Tutor.

Hmm, quite interesting. Maybe Dimir Infiltrator for the main and Muddle the Mixture for the sideboard. Thanks Lissa
