I like the built-in shroud on Sighted-Caste Sorcerer, but also want to keep the knight synergy I have maximized. The creatures I have that aren’t knights have game changing effects. I wish they could all be knights. You think I could replace Angelic Benediction with Ardent Plea?

Angelic Benediction is EXTREMELY overcosted, especially since you have a lot of removal/evasion in the deck. Akrasan Squire accomplishes much the same effect for three less mana. Maybe even Sighted-Caste Sorcerer over Sigiled Paladin, but that's a matter of personal taste and gameplay style.

Shadowspear is a great option but very pricey so I definitely understand not going for it. Audacity is a budget option that fills a similar niche.

And a bit of a strange suggestion, but Bant Charm is a little mana intensive, and not super effective (unless you've seen success with it!), may I suggest something like Winds of Abandon? It's a Path to Exile and more depending on your situation.

Definitely a fun deck, I love Rafiq!

Hi lyconnn! Glad to see another Isshin initiate on here. I took a very quick cursory glance over the deck, and I had a few recommendations. Some of your cards lean into the solo attacker style (and I've seen some very cool deck builds in that space), while a lot of your creature cards make tons more tokens on attack. I feel like most of the time you're drawing Angelic Benediction, Angelic Exaltation, etc. you're probably wanting to attack multiple opponents or at least with multiple creatures, which might make those cards dead draws. Those slots might be better served with things that give your creatures the melee ability, which I find to be phenomenal in my Isshin build. Something like Skyhunter Strike Force is absolutely bananas, as melee is an attack trigger. So if you attack 3 opponents with Isshin and Skyhunter out, each of your creatures would get +3/+3 twice, or +6/+6 overall, which is an incredible boost. Hammers of Moradin is also a great potential replacement for something like Angelic Benediction, as myriad is a combat trigger (so you'll make two tokens attacking the opponent you didn't originally choose with Hammers), and you'll get to tap down two creatures for each opponent, clearing the way a little better for an attack. Finally, I eventually got rid of Audacious Thief, because without Isshin on the field, it is a worse Phyrexian Arena, a card which has become slightly deprecated because the format has better options now. If you want the card draw, I really like Chivalric Alliance, as it provides draw and potential token production.

Anyway, that's just a few suggestions. Thanks, and have fun kicking butt with Isshin!

Birth of a Hero

Enchantment-Aura

Enchant Creature

Enchanted Creature has Protection from creatures with power 5 or greater

Exalted

Totem Armor

to clarify, the Aura has the exalted, not the creature. See Angelic Benediction and Ardent Plea for precedent. Make a Sorcery that involves Exalted.

Hi, Frd123 Thanks for the comment. Sublime Archangel used to be in here, and is the most likely to return among the three you suggested.

I don't like Angelic Benediction because of that mana cost, however, in my earlier scans, I missed the tap down ability. It is worth checking into, perhaps replacing Angelic Exaltation.

I've already have 3 damage doublers, and about the same in doublestrike enablers. For that reason alone, I think Gratuitous Violence is off the table as I don't want to go overboard. Currently with the set up as it is, it can go off as early as turn 7, more commonly turn 8-10 for the win.

I would suggest Sublime Archangel, Gratuitous Violence and Angelic Benediction.

Multiple exalted triggers on same creature do stack and tapping your only blocker could be good. And Gratuitous Violence is a double strike that stacks with other effects.

Very cool, I'm trying to make a similar deck. maybe consider enchantments like Angelic Benediction or Finest Hour, or exalted creatures like Sublime Archangel. I realize that this deck doesn't necessarily revolve around the exalted ability, but they're easy buffs for Rafiq with other benefits as well.

Rhythm of the Wild is also just an amazing enchantment for a deck with a lot of high cost creatures, you wanna be able to give them haste whenever possible! Also, Entreat the Angels , Angelic Benediction , and Angel's Grace could help ya flavor it up a bit too...
