Solemnity Angels

Sideboard

This is the current deck that I have been running in modern. It has answers to most situations. This deck is very self explanatory but i will break it down. Side note before playing this deck, unless you are good friends with those you play against, people will hate playing against you. Well to be more realistic people will hate being able to do nothing while you play.

Leyline to prevent targeting from burn, hand control, and direct damage like walking ballista.

Suppression field, this card early enough can stop fetch lands in their tracks, along with any other activated abilities such as those found in KCI decks. It makes opponents pay extra just to use planes walkers as well. Taxes Taxes Taxes.

Ghostly prison, this card is great against most decks. Doesn't do much against Tron or burn, so it will get sideboarded out most often. Against creature heavy decks and token decks, prison will win the game. Paying 2 colorless per creature sucks, having 2+ prisons out, making them pay 4, 6, or even 8, they can never attack. Again, bring on the Taxes.

Solemnity is pulling double duty in this deck. It prevents us from getting poison counters from infect as well as creating a great combo with phyrexian unlife that prevents us from dying. it also prevents counters on walking ballista, arcbound worker/ravager, stops aether vial from getting counters, as well as lands like mine.

Runed Halo for those decks that have certain cards that are mainstays, prime time in titan shift decks, prime time and the dino in amulet titan, or any other card that could deal us damage.

Nykthos is our mainstay for massive amounts of mana. using the devotion, which adds up quick, we can entreat the angels on turn 4 or 5 and get 7 or 8 angels. Ive had as many as 28 in a single cast.

Ghost Quarter is also running double duty in this deck. First reason is to get rid of any of their lands that they may need such as certain chock lands. Also combos well with our Flagstones of Trokair to give us extra plains and thin our decks out for more important draws. Targeting our own flagstones allows us to draw out two plains.

Sigil of the empty throne, the entire deck aside from entreat and lands is enchantments. so every spell but 4 has the potential to get us an angel as well as protection from our opponent.

Endless Horizons is the single addition I made to the deck and it has worked perfectly. Turn 4 with 4 plains on the board is the perfect time to cast Endless Horizons. It gives a land each turn while simultaneously thinning out our deck giving us greater chances at the enchantments we want/need and much higher chances of top decking that miracle Entreat. Even on the off chance that our opponent would get rid of Endless Horizons and we lose all those other lands that were exiled, 4 plains and a Nykthos is all we need to run our deck anyway. So do not fear thinning your deck out.

Greater Auramancy protects our enchantments from targeted removal like oblivion ring, reclamation sage, etc. With two out, nothing can be targeted. having 1 out means they need to get rid of Auramancy first before targeting anything else.

The sideboard is also pretty self explanatory. but the breakdown is as follows:

Stony silence, prevents activated abilities of artifacts. This stops walking ballista, mox opal, or any other activated ability. This pairs well with solemnity against affinity/modular decks.

Rest in peace, exile the graveyard and anything that would be put into the graveyard. Affinity/modular decks are stopped cold with this. Modular never gets a chance to trigger because the creature never hits the graveyard. Stops dredge decks in its tracks as well. Also eliminates flashback and jump-start mechanics.

Nevermore, the mono white version of meddling mage. For the most part I only sideboard it in against Tron to stop all is dust or Ugin. I occasionally sideboard it in and name primetime or Ad Nauseum.

Oblivion Ring is our spot removal. Anything and everything, except lands, from creatures to planeswalkers.

Porphyry Nodes is consistent creature removal. Works great against infect and token decks. the best thing is the caster gets the choice of creature if two or more are tied.

Greater Auramancy only 1 in sideboard with 2 in the main. I'll sideboard this in if I know they are putting in removal so I have a greater chance of drawing one.

All in all this is a great all around deck. I usually go 3-2, 3-1, or 4-1 running this deck. It has the potential to go 5-0 as long as someone else beats out control decks. Counter spell control decks are the worst match up for this deck. Tron is the next worst matchup. If played right this deck will win about 40% of the time against Tron.

If you're looking for a deck that is fun and easy to play and can hang with most Tier 1 decks, without spending Tier 1 money, this is the deck for you.

Let me know what you think or if you can think of any enchantments that may be better.
