Immortal Coil
Artifact
Tap, Remove two cards in your graveyard from the game: Draw a card.
If damage would be dealt to you, prevent that damage. Remove a card in your graveyard from the game for each 1 damage prevented this way.
When there are no cards in your graveyard, you lose the game.

have you considered Demonic Pact in addition or as an alternative to Immortal Coil

Something else thats been abandoned are Lich, Lich's Mastery, Immortal Coil, and Forbidden Crypt.
Id love to see them actually work in a deck that doesnt just try to donate them.

I mean I always love the classic Immortal Coil + Donate/Bazaar Trader. Since you mentioned you want to force your opponents to cast spells, the perfect card for that is Hive Mind :) edit: just saw that somebody already mentioned that.

Mono Black can't typically remove its own enchantments, so I had the idea to create a God-Eternal Bontu deck with the idea of using her to sacrifice those enchantments.
I'm looking for enchantments (or other permanents) with only black or colourless colour identity, that have a nice pay-off, but can become serious problems if left on the battlefield. Along the line of:
- Colfenor's Plans
- Demonic Lore
- Demonic Pact
- Forbidden Crypt
- Immortal Coil
- Midnight Oil
- Treacherous Blessing
- Yawgmoth's Agenda
But not along the lines of Lich and that stuff that's good to donate but not to sacrifice.
Thanks a bunch in advance.

Immortal Coil is the item I see most donated in these types of decks, but I have yet to see a good donate deck since Trix (which arguably had enough powerful cards to make any combo good).
More removal would be better than bounce against agressive creature decks.

Immortal Coil will trigger for them having not cards in graveyard, then they will discard. Losing life doesn't cause any additional triggers, as it's Immortal Coil only interacts with damage, not loss of life. Even though they have a card in their graveyard, the Immortal Coil trigger will still cause them to lose the game. If they somehow Stifle the trigger or otherwise survive they will now have a card in graveyard (from the discard) so Immortal Coil won't trigger again.

If you attack an opponent with Blim, Comedic Genius who has no cards in their graveyard, and you donate them an Immortal Coil, what happens?
From what I understand, they will receive Immortal Coil, which will trigger, and then discard a card. After Blim's discard + life loss resolves, the loss trigger gets put on the stack, which causes them to lose the game, despite them now having a card in their graveyard, since Immortal Coil does not have an intervening if clause.
Is this correct?
