UR Devotion now viable?

I have been searching the internet all morning, digging through articles, through forums, through decklists.

I have found a few decks and using the classic mono blue and UW devotion as somewhat shells...

Surely someone else agree's or sees that UR devotion could potentially work right now?

Keranos, God of Storms is an awesome card. control-ish yes, but I think he would be fun in either an izzet shell (burn/counter) obviously Im sure he could work in a UWR control...but it seems UR devotion is getting left out of the convo. This guy has the ability to take over a game, but also bring you back into game.

Mizzium Mortars

Temple of Epiphany

Magma Spray

Keranos, God of Storms

Ral Zarek

Lightning Strike

Magma Jet

all seem to me that UR devotion could be a thing. At least something fun.

I'm just having a hard time developing the skeleton of the deck.

Im naturally a control player, but I think UR devotion would be fun or worth trying.

Any other members have any input or idea's on a post Nyx UR devotion strategy?

White has a far more powerful incentive to splash in the form of Dsphere. I don't think the inconsistency in the mana base is worth the benefits of burn + Keranos. Also, running any red symbols would detract from Master.

Splashing white or green into Blue Devotion will yield a much better deck.

Keranos, God of Storms is too pricey and slow for an aggro deck. Burn could be nice but is not going to add much. The mana base was already stressed by mutavaults and heavy blue casting costs.

Aggro would simply work better as MONO U or MONO R.

Burn simple works better as MONO R or R/W.

so what type of deck does Keranos florish in the most?

I've been playtesting him in a RWU shell on cockatrice, and when he hits the board, he is awesome. but it kinda sucks tapping 5 late game, especially in a control mirror...

I am playing Keranos in a grixis shell, utilizing powerful burn spells like Rakdos's Return , and Magma Jet (which may not be powerful, but the deck manipulation is important with keranos, and Mogis, God of Slaughter . I also use Stormbreath Dragon and a suite of removal spells. Keranos is so powerful against midrange decks. he is decent against some agro decks, but not the hyper agro decks. Also, he struggles against d-sphere when you are running colors that have no answer for it(except Ratchet Bomb which I run mainboard). all that being said, I still enjoy my deck very much and cant wait to actually put him to use. I am going to have a blast with him!

I'm building this:

You can choose how I win.

My friend is trying a deck like this but also including a one-of Purphoros, God of the Forge . It's janky as hell but you're scared to death that he'll have a Master of Waves .

Izzet another devotion deck? I thought that It could be a good idea as well, though I took another root in the form of Young Pyromancer and Purphoros, God of the Forge .

The thing you need to figure out is are you monoblue splashing red or monored splashing blue?

Once you get this figured out, you can use either Boros Reckoner or Nightveil Specter to build his devotion faster. I think a UR devotion that is mostly blue could work really well as Thassa, God of the Sea into Master of Waves , into Keranos, God of Storms seems good

I personally think he is going to work REALLY well in an RUG midrange deck and I already have one built if you want to see the beginnings of it:

I'm down with R. U. G. (yeah you know me!) Playtest
