BBE in RG Eldrazi?

Modern Deck Help forum

My R/G Eldrazi Deck is a build I am trying to duplicate from Grzegorz Kowalski's deck that recently won a GP. Today, I watched a deck video by Gaby Spartz that uses Bloodbraid Elf in the deck. This got me to think that it could be a good card to run for obvious speed and free card reasons. After watching her video, there was really only one instance where BBE helped her out and that was in game 1 where she got a Dismemeber to clear the only blocker her opponent had. Other times it seemed like it was more appropriate for her to play a Thought-Knot Seer or Reality Smasher rather than spin the wheel with BBE. It also seemed like her deck lacked a high end threat such as Endbringer as my deck and Kowalski's deck runs. There are limited videos and deck references for the type of build because most Eldrazi decks are based on a Tron build.

So my question is this. Is the power of BBE being overshadowed by bad match-ups, or is this just a bad deck build to use the card in? My best threats such as TKS, Smasher, and Endbringer cannot be played off of the cascade effect, but it hitting an Eldrazi Obligator would be nice for a pair of haste creatures. I would love to play BBE, but I do not want to plug it into a deck that does not need it just for the sake of playing it.

So I can try Spatz's build and take out the Scavenging Oozes for BBE, or I thought about -1 Oooze and -1 Forked Bolt for +2 BBE. I have not played at an FMN since the unbanning announcements so I am not sure how much Jace and U/W control dominates my local meta. I do know that Lingering Souls would make an appearance a lot so the Bolt is helpful with taking out the tokens. Please let me know what you all think about the situation. I am hoping to get this ironed out so I can take this deck to FMN this week. Thanks

It doesn't seem worth it by turn 4 you should be dropping a titan or getting the last piece of tron

I am not playing a tron Eldrazi deck with my current build. I wish I could, but do not want to spend the $ on the chalices.

You can run tron without chalice

I run eldrazi tron without chalices just fine, im at about a 70 percent win ratio. My meta is merfolk, affinity (thats the thorn in my side) 5 color humans, death and taxes, death shadow (all variances) and valakut

As for the BBE in tron, I dont think its a good add. As the comments above said, you should either be dropping a tron piece and a massive creature by turn 4. There just arent many solid cards that you could cascade into.

I am not sure where this tron discussion is coming from. I guess the comment I made about most Eldrazi discussions being about Eldrazi Tron is throwing people off? I do appreciate the input about tron not needing the chalices to survive. I agree that BBE in tron is bad. I am wondering if BBE in the R/G Eldrazi deck that I am trying to tweek is a good idea. Do you run colorless tron or a colored variant?

To be honest, I'm not a fan of BBE in RG Eldrazi. It doesn't get ramped by Eldrazi Temple, and it hits very few of your actual Eldrazi (and you need to have mana open if you want to use the effect of any Eldrazi Obligators that you hit). It's decent value, I suppose, but not really at its best.

I was able to find another build that had this as their spells list:
2 x Hazoret the Fervent
2 x Atarka's Command
4 x Thought-Knot Seer
4 x Matter Reshaper
4 x Reality Smasher
4 x Lightning Bolt
4 x Ancient Stirrings
4 x Eldrazi Obligator
4 x Bloodbraid Elf
4 x Talisman of Impulse

So they basically took out the mana dorks for artifact ramp. I was wondering if that would be a better option than Birds of Paradise due to the old saying "Bolt/Push the bird." The artifact ramp may allow for me to be able to play BBE and still have mana available to an obligator pull. I do not have the Hazoret so I was thinking of replacing it with Endbringer. Atarka is another interesting add since it could be early game burn/ramp or a way to pump the squad for an alpha attack. Still not quite sold on the BBE versions, but still want to make sure to explore possible options since it can be a powerful card in the right builds.

I looked at the list and I don't think bbe will be good in your list
