Dack faden

For a W/B stoneblade player, how do I deal with dack? Do I splash for green blue or possibly even red, or is Vindicate enough to keep him at bay? For those who don't know, dack is the new conspiracy planeswalker, 3 mana, minus little is take control of target artifact.

Vindicate is probably plenty. You could consider something like Hero's Downfall (although it isn't really played in modern). Splashing green for things like Abrupt Decay and Maelstrom Pulse wouldn't be a bad idea either.

The question is "how do you deal with Liliana of the Veil currently?" It would be about the same deal here. Personally I think Vindicate is enough, along with Thoughtseize , Sinkhole , Wasteland and Inquisition of Kozilek (ld to slow them down while you do your thing).

kmcree, that's what I was thinking, but I'm really leaning towards splashing blue or green.

Green for abrupt decay, maelstrom pulse, scavenging ooze, deathrite ect.

Blue for counterspells, clique, brainstorm ect.

Maybe I'm exaggerating dack a little, should I even be too worried about him?

Thanks for the help btw.

There's no way to stop Dack from stealing your Batterskull if he hits the battlefield. Your opponent retains priority, and will probably be smart enough to -2 right away before you get a chance to do anything about it. Killing him after the fact probably won't help you in any way.

Your best bet is to force your opponent to discard him via Thoughtseize , Hymn to Tourach , Duress , Cabal Therapy , or Inquisition of Kozilek .

If all that fails, at least you get to keep control of a 4/4 vigilant, lifelink token until your opponent gets the mana to equip (your) Batterskull to one of his own creatures.

gufymike, that's a good point tbh, I'm probably more worried about this than I should be. Do you think there's enough in my deck? (Batterskull just got stoned... It's on crack. )

The other option is expensive, and requires running blue for the cookie-cutter Esper Stoneblade list. Force of Will is good against problem cards. It's also super effective against wallets.

Personally, I think G/B has some of the best removal available. Abrupt Decay is absolutely nuts in modern. But NobodyPicksBulbasaur makes a good point. Once he hits you're in deep trouble. Probably best to go for hand disruption like Thoughtseize and Inquisition of Kozilek .

Your deck is already stacked against Dack. So much discard. I would highly recommend making room for 4x Mother of Runes . You can probably ditch one copy each of Vindicate and Lingering Souls , along with your 2 Thoughtseize . You can move the TS to the sideboard against some of your less fair matchups.

NobodyPicksBulbasaur, yeah, the whole deck hurts my wallet tbh. It's more about being competitive than price for me tbh. But I've just realised that I can return Batterskull to my hand in response to the trigger... he's not going to be too bad after all, and I can just vindicate whatever is relevant anyways.

This is all sideboard tech tbh, anyone who mains dack is insane. Mother of runes is an interesting suggestion though.

you're fine nayaftw the only problem I see is you not drawing the card you need to deal with it, when you need it. Which shouldn't be often.

So Im just going to say this. Dack Fayden is going to be maybe a 1-2 of in the RUG and UWR Delver decks, and if they take Batterskull they will need for one 5 mana to move it(because when it gets taken the germ doesnt die) which is unlikely, and another thing, a creature to put it on which they might not have because your deck is so full of removal.

I like to Spell Pierce planeswalkers like Liliana of the Veil , should work fine against this new planeswalker. I'd wait to see his impact before making any major changes though, for sure.
