Uril, the Miststalker Help

Deck Help forum

Hi. I have seen some really great budget Uril, the Miststalker EDH decks. Do you have any suggestions for upgrading the deck? Specifically anti-sac cards and (I'm not sure these exist, but...) auras that have removal when etb or something akin to that, but also just great Naya Auras. Thanks!

Sigarda, Host of Herons would be what you're looking for for anti-sac. Not budget though. Also, you didn't link a deck so I cant really suggest improvements without an actual decklist. You linked the card itself.

Also, you want aura spells that...remove stuff when they ETB? Thats usually not what auras are, they are buffs, not removal. There are enchantments that are removal like Oblivion Ring, but they arent auras.

There is exactly Faith Unbroken. But it is a little mana heavy for just +2/+2 (+4/+4 on Uril) and removal. I guess it is enough that it is 2 shot with any other aura on Uril, but 4 mana is still steep IMO.

If you’re trying to prevent sacrificing Uril, then Tajuru Preserver is your most mana-curve friendly option, and it’s value gets a boost from all the green creature tutors available. As far as keeping Uril on the board otherwise, any of the Naya totem-armor options can be successful at mitigating board wipes.

Runes of the Deus is the goto Uril aura. As for removal effects, you're pbetter off just running cheap to cast removal like Swords to Plowshares, Path to Exile, Beast Within, Nature's Claim, stuff like that. the issue with tying removal to auras is that A) if htey exist they will generally be expensive and B) you need to have something (Uril) in play to enchant. Not to mention having lots of sorcery speed removal feels bad.

If you want to use enchantments to remove stuff (to keep on theme/get value from the enchantress effects you should be running in the deck) then you have Oblivion Ring, Grasp of Fate and Song of the Dryads.
