Competitive artifact oriented deck

Commander Deck Help forum

Hello everyone,

I'm actually in two very competitive meta that use infinite combos and/or completely broken effects.

I would like to build an artifact oriented deck that would be absolutely kickass. The only artifact oriented deck that I've ever seen is a Karn deck, but it needs lots of expensive cards to be kinda competitive.

I'm more of an oldschool player, played for fun but I've grown tired of being anihilated by turn 3.

My worst match ups are Brago and Zur.

Help me make them pay.

The new goto artifact commander is Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain since she cantrips off them.

There is also Breya, Etherium Shaper who acts as an engine with cards like Nim Deathmantle and Ashnod's Altar. She also gives you access to black which means access to the best tutors in the game.

Lastly there is Sydri, Galvanic Genius who combos nicely with Aetherflux Reservoir the second you have 50+ life. Just make it a creature with lifelink and wreck your opponents 50 damage at a time. While you lose access to red, your mana base becomes more consistent and you still have access to black.

Outside of the combo commanders, you have Daretti, Scrap Savant who is a solid stax commander, albeit not as consistent as the aforementioned three.

For competitive EDH with an artifact focus, there’s no better commander than Arcum Dagsson. I’ll use my deck as a reference, as I’m partial to it, but with mono-blue you can make it much more control heavy as needed within your meta.

Dang Son! It's a Rube Goldberg Machine!

I heard Arcum is pretty nice. Do you have an opinion on breya?

Competitive artifact decks tend to have expensive mana rocks. The above suggestions all make sense, but I would also suggest Oona, Queen of the Fae as an outlet for a dramatic scepter deck. Take a look at Dr. Whoona, Queen of the Bae for an example list.

Hey Azdranax, I'll give a try to Arcum. Artifact based with a splash of blue is great.

OP_Sigma I have a feeling you’ll enjoy it. It is incredibly consistent and has several win condition possibilities. Sentinel Tower will be a great addition with buyback spells as well.

Man I can't wait to mess with those heavy combo players in my playgroup.

If you're playing against a lot of storm-esque decks, don't forget to run Damping Sphere. you sholud also look into Back to Basics.

It is not the case yet, but I'll keep that in mind. Thanks!
