Fetches for landfall on Searing Blaze.

Price of Progress for 128 on T4??

That means that you were on the draw, and your opponent didn't miss a land drop (and somehow only had non-basics in play, you know they use basics a lot in Legacy too? Cuz Wasteland is a thing), so Price of Progress would deal 4*2=8 damage, doubled 4 times from 4 Quest for Pure Flame.

8x2x2x2x2=128.

The odds are so low I won't even try to calculate them.

Not to mention even having 4 active Quest for Pure Flame on T4 is almost impossible.

That's a really bad example (like literally the BEST CASE SCENARIO). I wouldn't use that in the description.

Okay, fine :P by the way, it was with reverberate, and 3 quests. But yes, you're right, the odds are incredibly low. If someone has goblin guides for trade, that'll help with price of progress. Take out swiftspear for it. And you know my problem with fetchs, nobody trades them :P I'll change the description I suppose.

If you can find someone who's willing to trade me fetches, then I'd put them in, but honestly, nobody tends to want anything I have.

I'm considering switching mostly to modern and trading away most of my good standard stuff for fetches.

i would have splashed white for such great cards like Swords to Plowshares

Swords to Plowshares seems like a bad idea to me... I want to be able to kill my opponent as fast as I can, so why throw in spell that make them gain life? I know I have Sulfuric Vortex, but that's not really a card I can just rely to be able to cast swords without them gaining anything. If I wanted to add cheap removal, I think I'd rather Path to Exile seeing as how it doesn't set my gameplan back and there's so few basics in legacy that it won't always set my opponents game plan ahead. Unless I'm mistaken somewhere here.

Why do you play 1 Shard Volley and 1 Thunderous Wrath...if you're buying I'd say raise the chain lightning's to 4. That card is amazing.

Those are in case I'm buying the rest of this tomorrow and I currently don't have budget for all 4 Chain Lightning. I need to buy them seperately from the first two at a later date. Purely for that reason. Although, why is Chain Lightning so good? How is it better than something like bolt? Why is it worth so much?

if you know anything about magic it is because Lightning Bolt was printed so much and Chain Lightning was printed in the set legends. Chain Lightning is so good because not a lot of games have people copying it.

First of all, there's absolutely no need to be condescending.

Second of all, I'm well aware of how many printings of bolt there are and how few there are of Chain Lightning. By the way, it was also printed in the premium deck series, not just legends. But legends tends to be an expensive set to buy from.

Third of all, I'm getting into legacy and know very little about the format so I was unsure if it's ability was ever actually remotely relevant.

Now please, if you intend to be condescending towards me about either my deck or my knowledge of magic, please don't comment on this deck again. It was a honest question because I was curious about the uses of its ability and wether or not it's price tag was simply because of the fact that it has so few printings or because of some intricate interaction that I had not yet noticed.

I am sorry, I did not mean to look condescending, I admit I was inconsiderate. a very good card for this deck would be Vexing Devil, and I have seen people use Browbeat in slower, grindier matchups

In a deck where I'm often goldfishing turn 3 kills, I'm not sure Browbeat is what I want, especially since it gives your opponent a choice on the effect of your cards, which is almost never a good idea. I tried it out briefly along with Reforge the Soul after cruise got the ban hammer in modern and it just never gave me what I wanted. Same goes for Vexing Devil, although it is admittedly much better. I like Vexing Devil in highly aggressive modern red zoo shells, but again, it depreciates in value massively as a top deck as the game goes on and the later in the game it is, the less likely you are to have your opponent make the choice you want them to make. When you need a bolt, he'll die to one, when you need a board state, they'll force you to sac him. I just don't see him cutting it in legacy when he's replacing another Lightning Bolt. I think I'd rather actually have some Flame Rift.

I know I just went on about cards that give your opponent choice, but one thing I'd love to do is land a t2 Lava Blister on my opponent. That or Sirocco against blue decks... That's the issue with red, it has a bunch of cards that at first glance are super good, but give your opponent a choice of what your cards do and they're always lacklustre. But I'll be dropping Shard Volley and Thunderous Wrath, I know they're both bad.
