I needed a working, inexpensive standard deck, and defenders do not seem to be used all that often. So I thought it would be cool.

The idea behind this is to amass a lot of mana using Overgrown Battlement, and use the amassed mana to Fireball to death. Time is required, and defenders need to be kept alive, but all of the defenders have complimentary or deterrent effects, hopefully keeping the pressure on.

Terramorphic Expanse is there to try and ensure I have at least 1 Plains, Mountain and Forest in play early on. If there is an effective, alternative card, please let me know. I find searching through my deck to be a pain. I think I may have some Prophetic Prism lying around, what do you think?

Special land would lower the total number of lands required in the deck, but they are expensive and I do not currently own any. Currently, I may be able to lower the number of Terramorphic Expanse to 2, and add 2 Wall of Tanglecord to increase my creature count, but I am unsure if this is a good idea. I do not currently own any Wall of Omens but if I did, it would be in the same boat as Wall of Tanglecord
