Why is Inverter of Truth being ignored

I had a similar themed deck, but it focused on filling the Graveyard with these bombs to scavenge onto other creatures. Some others you may be interested in: Cosmic Larva, Nyxathid, Phyrexian Soulgorger. Just a few to the list. It's too bad Phyrexian Dreadnought is not Modern legal, but you can throw them in for the casual play.

I love the idea of Boros Charm instead of Lightning Helix it deals an extra damage and can give one of your creatures Double Strike for the victory.

Inverter of Truth just isn't as good as the other 4 mana bombs. Its only a 6/6 for 4, as opposed to a 9/8 or a 8/8

IzzetGod that's actually something I didn't pay attention to, Boros Charm fits perfectly this deck, I'll do the changes when I get home, thanks for the suggestion! I thought about Lightning Helix as a way to recover the life loss from shocks/fetches, but Boros Charm would be so much better allowing me to either hit for the win or protect my stuff from hate cards, specially the Torpor Orb itself since it only says "permanents"

Retribution87 Yeah man, if Phyrexian Dreadnought were legal in modern I'd put him in for sure, specially because I already own the playset, including 3 DCI Foils, I have a similar deck for Legacy that runs him though...The other creatures you mentioned I don't really feel like adding because their drawbacks can't be stopped by Torpor Orb since they're static abilities instead of ETB, despite Phyrexian Soulgorger which is very good and I might try him out

None of the creatures are expensive (dollars) and I already own the money stuff in Lands. Might try and build this deck over the next 2 weeks. I need a new deck since Summer Bloom got banned and I kinda just want a deck that's trollish and this is one I like.

Hmm. I think Boros Charm is unnecessary. I'd also run the 4th Hushwing Gryff. This deck drowns without the Torpor Orb - not having it is brutal. I'd go with more card draw/filtering like Read the Bones Painful Truths to make sure your cards land in the right order. Alternatively you could go with Faithless Looting or Tormenting Voice - which are good late game too when you have discard spells that are late to the party. Nahiri, the Harbinger would be a boss here too.

Have you Considered Leveler?

HubbleScope Yeah man, I thought about him but I don't feel like replacing any of the other guys for him since he lacks the Trample ability and his drawback is probably the most dangerous one if compared with the other creatures..

rcrimmins I like Nahiri, the Harbinger here, I'm just not sure what to take out for her because the deck feels consistent as it is.. I kinda disagree on Boros Charm being useless because it has actually saved my creatures and Torpor Orb several times, not to mention the double strike which practically wins games on its own
