The idea is to get Krenko, Mob Boss on the field before you die. This process is made somewhat easier by Warren Instigator, but it's still a struggle. I'm not entirely convinced that Krenko isn't just too slow. Help me please!
The starting hitters of the deck are Legion Loyalist and
Raging Goblin
, as they're one drops with haste. Goblin Guide would be better choice, but it wouldn't be in keeping with the idea of a budget deck.
Legion Loyalist also performs with Goblin Chieftain and
Goblin Wardriver
as a make-the-little-goblins-scary card. Between them, they deliver haste, first strike, trample, +2,+1 and tokens can't block them. Dynacharge also kinda falls in this category. It's potential for early and late game seems to make it the the most flexible card choice for this slot.
Lightning Bolt because Lightning Bolt and Goblin Grenade because Goblin Grenade
Card draw has been the hardest thing to nail down. I experimented with Reforge the Soul but it's too cumbersome when you don't get it for the miracle cost. I'm now running
Browbeat
. It DOES give the opponent the choice, but five damage or three cards both seem like good options. Infiltration Lens got put in as a more permanent card draw. Again, it does give the other player the choice to block or not, but if it doesn't get me cards, at least it gets me damage.
Annnnnnnnd then there's Krenko, Mob Boss. When he does work, he's brilliant, when he doesn't, he's mindbogglingly slow. I can ostensibly get him out turn three with Warren Instigator, but that's usually not viable. Either the card order is wrong or the other player just doesn't let it happen. I'm honestly not sure whether to leave him in for potential for sheer badassery or just take him out.
This budget friendly deck CAN pull of a turn four win with him though.T1: Mountain, Legion Loyalists 1 damageT2: Mountain, Warren Instigator 1 damageT3: Mountain, Goblin Chieftain, attack with Warren Instigator, get a Krenko, Mob Boss and another Goblin Chieftain. Tap Krenko for five goblinsT4: Tap Krenko for ten goblins, attack with everything. So much goblins.
