3-1 League Matches —Feb. 19, 2014

So playing this deck for the first time went well! Game one it is just too quick for most decks. The game I lost was against an almost mirror match, but they played G/W instead. Personally I think it is pretty even as I lost it 2-1 and the final match I drew lands for 4 turns. Blood baron is stupidly good at the moment. I need more!

Looks pretty fun. Have you tried going with a main deck Brave the Elements and/or Mutavault ?

I really like Mutavault but my budget isn't so good at the moment. I prefer Rootborn Defenses to Brave the Elements just because it won't get rid of my enchantments if I have to name white. Genuinely thought I had it in my sideboard but apparently not. What do you reckon I could swap for it?

I play a similar build and found Brave the Elements to be really good main. I rarely have to name white. But after the side board, if I am facing the mirror, I simply side out my enchantments for Glare of Heresy and Celestial Flare or Last Breath .

Have you put your deck on here? I only have one Glare of Heresy so need to get some more, but that will get put in the sideboard. I'll have a play about with Brave the Elements and see what I prefer.

No haven't added it yet. I want to run a few more tourney's with it before posting results. It has been doing better than expected. Still testing new land adjustments. It has gone 3-1, 3-1, and 2-2. Doing better since I went with 4 Brave the Elements and 2 Gods Willing main. I had to curve down for the local meta. Lot's of aggro.

I run Banisher Priest over Fabled Hero and Ajani, Caller of the Pride over Gideon, Champion of Justice . I also run 3 Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx so I can create more tokens from Heliod, God of the Sun . That helps me win against U/W control.

I really liked Frontline Medic but replaced that with Soldier of the Pantheon since I ran up against Voice of Resurgence , Detention Sphere and Frostburn Weird more each week.

There is a lot of control in my area, mainly Jund and mono-black. Mono-blue pops up rarely as well. I was considering adding a Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx so i can abuse the spear and heliods extra abilities. I'm looking to try and swap for a few Ajani's next time I play because I can see how they would be really good.

To be honest. I wasn't a fan Ajani until I added him to the deck. A few of my wins has been due to giving Heliod flying and double strike. Since you run Fabled Hero , the +1 counters can be mean.

If you are playing against the heavy removal of mono black and Jund, Gods Willing may be a better fit over Rootborn Defenses . They will have a hard time dealing with your deck's heroic abilities. Still keep it in the side since Jund will up their removal after game 1.

When I get some Ajani he will definitely be added to this deck. Flying and double strike on a big creature is silly. Will update the deck when I have the cards.

Thanks for the input by the way, really appreciate it. I'm not used to playing white so I don't know the cards that well!
