I've been playing this on MTG Arena (non-ranked; best of 1) with some decent success against a variety of decks. Looking to enhance it to be a little more competitive (best of 3 and/or ranked) by either switching out some components or changing up my play-style. Deck-list is based on my current collection.
The main goal of the deck is to get out things like
Spawn of Mayhem
and/or
Ill-Gotten Inheritance
to slowly whittle down your opponent and pump your
Chandra's Spitfire
. Both SoM and IGI proc the Spectacle effects on
Light Up the Stage
and
Skewer the Critics
to help give you answers each turn or take down a large threat. Likewise,
Chandra's Spitfire
can fairly consistently be 4/3 on your turn with either SoM or IGI -- many times even 7/3 or 10/3.
Health is a resource here, especially in the early game until you can regain or stabilize with IGI(s). Many times I've been in a health race where IGI's activated ability saves me a turn or even finishes the game, damage, health, and a
Chandra's Spitfire
pump.
Attacking each turn early on with
Dreadhorde Butcher
let's it either get big, or its death effect allows you to hit face and proc a Spectacle to get answers or clear a bigger threat.
Chandra, Awakened Inferno
gives you a board-wipe that most of your creatures can survive and emblems that ping your opponent each of their up-keeps, which can make
Chandra's Spitfire
a 4/3 or higher on your opponents turn.
Cry of the Carnarium
wipes small creatures and tokens while keeping your big stuff alive.
Ravenous Chupacabra
won't survive, but its primary role is to take out bigger threats while chumping hits.
Angrath's Rampage
helps keep take out loose ends.
Theater of Horrors
is a mid-game card that let's you play a good amount of your deck, but should probably be held until you place a IGI or SoM so that you can always play what is exiled.
