You pack two different game plans: either a (hopefully) OTK mill with Archive Trap with a forced library search from Maralen of the Mornsong, or a grindy Hedron Alignment game. You can sideboard out either playset of winconds for something else.

The shells for both are synergistic -- lots of tutoring and deck searching to assemble your chosen playset wincond, classic blue and black removals, and game plan denial. At its heart, however, it really is just a goldfish deck.

When choosing a mode for Monastery Siege, take some time to review the game, as either choice will probably shoehorn you into a specific wincond depending on what's happened so far.

Brainspoil should be used for its transmute tutor, but can definitely be used as creature removal in worst-case scenarios.
