It can move a counter to give a creature the edge they need to survive an encounter, it combos well with Quest For The Gemblades, and allows outlast to work as a cheap stream of counters. Without it your creatures can still get counters from other effects, like Cenn's Tactician, and Ajani, Caller Of The Pride.
