This is a deck I have been brewing up the past few days leading up to the release of the AER set. I noticed that there were some interesting interactions with the Improvise mechanic. And i think that it is possible to streamline it and make it explosive given the fact that it essentially turns all of your artifacts into mana rocks and we have 12 0-drop artifacts in rotation.

The deck has an ideal turn 1 hand that can allow the deck to play Bastion Inventor or Enraged Giant on turn one for 1 land! The idea is simple. Hope that you start with 1 land, 5 0-drops, and either Bastion Inventor or Enraged Giant. In one scenario you are getting to swing for 4 damage before the opponent can even play a single land. And in the other you are putting down a 4-4 Hexproof creature. Both of which are devastating this early in the game.

--THE MANA-- The deck utilizes 12 0-drops and 18 lands for mana. Essentially giving the deck 30 lands with the added bonus of 12 of them being able to be played along side our 1 allotted land per turn which accelerates our mana.

--ONE DROPS-- There are 8 1-drops. 4 of them are Inventor's Goggles and 4 are Merchant's Dockhand. The goggles are important because all but 1 creature we play is an artificer allowing free +1/+2 equips, sometimes 3 or 4 at a time AND using the goggles as rocks to cast the artificer. The second 1 drop played is the Merchant's Dockhand. This card serves as a body to slow down aggro as well as having a relevant mana sink if we should flood by allowing us to sift through our deck to pull whatever we need into our hand. The most I have been able to trigger the ability for was 9.

EDIT-- I took out one Dockhand for shock.

--BOMBS-- Our bombs can all be played with as little as 2 lands + relevant number of artifacts.

Bastion Inventor -- This is the idea card to have hit play. With hexproof and a big butt it isnt going anywhere in the early game and against aggro decks it is simply too big to be run over. Enraged Giant -- This card is essentially Incorrigible Youths on meth. 4/4 with haste, trample and possible on turn 1 with god hand. It is explosive and wins games if played at the right time and goes toe-to-toe with almost anything in the format. Gearseeker Serpent -- This card is meant to be played as our 2 drop. It is very possible to get artifacts on board by turn and doing so allows us to play a 5/6 beast on the second turn of the game if our main plan of Bastion Inventor or Enraged Giant on turn one isnt going to happen. Really at any point in the game you will be playing this card at 3 or less mana.

--OTHER CARDS-- Shock -- Gives us some removal or just some burn to the face when we need it. Very good card and its 1 mana.

Metallic Rebuke -- This is just such a good card. It will be a hard counter from turn 1 to at least 4. But realistically with GB Snakes it will be very satisfying to counter a turn 2 snake with a 3 mana counterspell on the draw with 1 land in play.

Maverick Thopterist -- is AMAZING. It goes wide and gives us 2 untapped artifacts so we actually are paying 3 mana for him. MVP.

The goal is to play your game of magic and focus on pumping out rocks and playing big things with out any land. Playing Bastion Inventor after say turn 2 or 3 is still a serious threat because of the hexproof+freequipment goggles. I often times play Bastion Inventor for U and have 2 or 3 goggles attach to it freely and have it enter as a 6/8 or larger.
