Breaking Bishop of Rebirth

Standard*

defamagraphy1

So. We have Humans. We have Vampires. And they're all pretending to be dinosaurs. But WHY? This is the Broadway Version of The Land Before Time. And they're all having an identity crisis. Which will be a good name for this deck. Still asking why? I'll give you a minute. Got it yet? No? Well if you haven't figured it out, there's an infinite combo in this deck. I could have used any old shell, but this brought out both the flavor of Ixalan, and possibly a competitive edge. (Don't pay attention to the numbers at the bottom of the screen about being competitive. They're not right.) So, let me break this down for you all.

Have Bishop of Rebirth, Yahenni, Undying Partisan, and Combat Celebrant, and Otopec Huntmaster in play, and able to attack. Declare your attack, exerting Combat Celebrant, both Bishop of Rebirth and Combat Celebrant with trigger. (Specifically exert Combat Celebrant first, then Bishop) Combat Celebrants ability goes on the stack, then Bishop of Rebirth's ability goes on the stack. Respond to the abilities by sacrificing Combat Celebrant to Yahenni (or Defiant Salvager) Bishop's ability goes off, Reviving Celebrant, Give Combat Celebrant haste, attack again, exerting Combat Celebrant and repeat over and over until your opponent is dead. Now keep in mind that this combo is fragile and there is a number of ways to stop it. However, if you play Heroic Intervention prior to your attack your combo will win you the game that turn. Now this combo seems a little overwhelming to pull off, but with Bishop of Rebirth if one of your pieces die you can bring in back, also you can back this deck by playing aggro for the win instead. Possibly the two most difficult cards in this deck to figure out is what to choose for Arcane Adaptation and Unclaimed Territory. Arcane Adaptation set to Dinosaur, will net you the bonus of reduced costs, let you search for pieces with Commune and that will be the most common play for that. Unclaimed Territory however will need to be set to Dinosaur, Vampire, or Human, depending on what you need to play first depending on what you have out, and what you have in hand.

Hope you enjoy.
