This is my current Rat deck, it includes 3 powerful tactics:
1: Create a lot of token rats! (with my Ogres, Pack Rat and of course with the legendary Marrow-Gnawer!)
2: Discard: empty my opponent's hand (They hate it but it helps me to have more controle over the game. And I can even do some damage with Shrieking Affliction)
3: Infect (kill your opponent with poison counters!)

I also love the ninjutsu cards, they form a good combo with some attacking rat tokens...
