FNM Play —July 20, 2012

The deck did rather well in FNM for a rough draft

Round 1: 2-1, the opponent had a deck based around unblockables and equipping them with either Swords or Inquisitor's Flail, etc. Game 1 the deck wiped him, Game 2 he got lucky with several miracles of Temporal Mastery, killing me but not before I brought him down to 2 life. Game 3 I sideboarded in Marrow Shards, waited for him to attack with everything, played it, then destroyed him again.

Round 2: 1-2, I went up against the Judge who was running a similar deck. Game 1, the Judge got me down to 8 life I believe, but I had an Odric, Master Tactician out which gave me control, turn 6 I drew an Angel of Jubilation, giving me lethal damage on the swing. Game 2, a combination of Huntmaster of the Fells  Flip and constantly using Restoration Angel's whenever I tried to kill it screwed over my board as he was able to consistently kill all my creatures when I brought them out, he had 9 at the end of that game. Game 3, no land so I mulliganed to 6, pulling only a Sunpetal Grove with a bunch of 2 drops, but not pulling another land till turn 5 which was already game.

Round 3: 2-0 Went up against a guy running a R/W based around Hero of Bladehold with a splash of Goblins. Both games were over on turn 5, his deck seemed to giving him bad hands.

Round 4: 0-2, Interesting homebrew based solely off milling, using playsets of Day of Judgment, Fog, Clinging Mists, Blunt the Assault, etc. Both games I was able to have him down to lethal if I ever swung successfully, but he kept pulling all of his damage preventions. One game I even had 2 Mayor of Avabruck  Flip's producing wolves each turn for about 9 turns (20x 4/4 wolves swinging...) before he pulled a Day of Judgment to wipe me out, while using Rites of Flourishing, Jace's Erasure and Jace, Memory Adept to mill. Replicated what I saw of the deck here: Mill destruction
