This deck is built around a combo my friend mentioned to me the other day. Death's Shadow is a tough card to use, you need a low life total for him to even be useful in play. Why not pitch him and use Varolz, the Scar-Striped to scavenge him so you can put 13 counters on a creature for one black? No way to pitch Death's Shadow? Just play him for one black and watch him put himself in your graveyard.

The Key Combo

Death's Shadow + Varolz, the Scar-Striped : This combo turns your trample creatures into huge beaters and Inkmoth Nexus into a one-shot kill. 13 counters for one black is pretty sweet!

I plan on getting more Overgrown Tombs and Llanowar Wastes to finish the mana base.

Also need to finish the Sideboard with more Abrupt Decays and more removal.
