One of the first Pauper decks I ever built. Beasts! was based on a deck list from MTGOStrat.com. The link to the page no longer works, sadly! The title of the article was "keeping watch for beasts using overlooked tribal engines."

The basic premise of the deck is to take advantage of the card draw from Wirewood Savage (the only reason we're playing beasts to begin with). We skip over the 2-drop slot entirely because we are quite likely to have an opening hand with 1-mana ramp.

The secondary theme of the deck is auras. We have a few hexproof beasts that carry auras well and Aura Gnarlid is a massive threat with only 2-3 auras out. With a bit of ramp, it's possible to end the game on turn 4 with the right creatures and auras.

Voracious Typhon is an excellent addition to the deck, as it is a recurrable threat that makes use of our graveyard.
