You know, while simic doesn't destroy creatures, you can still remove them: Willow Satyr , Sower of Temptation , Watertrap Weaver , Man-o'-War , etc.

Winterblast my point exactly. The main point was not about Willow Satyr, but how commander centric of a deck it is and how that does not make it glass cannon.

Vannifar is about as glass cannon as every other commander-based combo deck, plus the addition of blue. During my playtesting sessions my commander got stolen from me with Willow Satyr and I was unable to recover from that. This concept of getting rid of a commander could neuter pretty much all commander-based decks. Also there is not one single card that Vannifar revolves around besides Vannifar that without it you lose. One of the whole points of the deck is to have multiples lines to victory so that if you accidentally draw Craterhoof Behemoth in the early game, or Flash gets Praetor's Grasped you just switch lines.

Great build!

Any thought to High Market or Miren, the Moaning Well, to sac your stolen critters?

Willow Satyr and/or Empress Galina could be nice backup for Rubinia.

It’s a little out there, but what about Titania's Song? I am not too knowledgeable about Wiccan culture, but transmuting artifacts into creatures has a folksy quality to it — something Gogol might write about.

I love the use of Traveler’s Cloak — it’s long been a pet card of mine.

Hmmmm

Root Maze - Artifact Hate (and land hate, so maybe Amulet of Vigor could help that?),

City of Solitude - Stops countermagic,

Hum of the Radix - punishing artifact tax

Choke - lolbluedecks

Freyalise's Winds - can harm you but it's a staxy control thing that really hurts opposing decks

Dosan the Falling Leaf - like City of Solitude, but a people.

Magus of the Library (not control/stax, but should be good for card advantage?),

Willow Satyr - Green Empress Galina!

Titania's Song - artifact hate

Arboria - a weeeird, janky card that could work in your favour. You could spend turns activating loyalty abilities.

Kudzu - land destruction but it comes back to bite you. Being green, you should have enough ramp to not care though.

Drop of Honey - green Porphyry Nodes

Power Conduit could help with your age counters, but that's entirely optional.

Knight of the Reliquary,Krosan Verge, Avenger of Zendikar, Exploration for more landfall. I would also add 1 or 2 more lands.If you want to play the swords (while I think Feast and Famine is the only one that is really worth playing) might want to add Stoneforge Mystic.Shaman of Forgotten Ways, Asceticism maybe.

Cut Aven Mindcensor, Serra Ascendant, Mana Vault, Selesnya Signet, Talisman of Impulse, Willow Satyr, Solemn Simulacrum
