Spectral Bears

Creature — Bear Spirit

Whenever Spectral Bears attacks, if defending player controls no black nontoken permanents, it doesn't untap during your next untap step.

I've often been surprised how much mileage you can get out of old cards, provided they are either doing something very unusual (like Preacher) or do something you often want to be doing (like Phyrexian Purge), but it's true that most old cards aren't the best at what they do, and you take a hit in power level to run them. If you are building some 6s instead of 7s and 8s you can get away with more old cards, and if you mix new (and extremely pushed) stuff with some of the better old stuff you can certainly do okay, but it's hard to find a proper home for Spectral Bears or Dwarven Pony, even in an 'anything goes' format like EDH, too bad they have such cool art!

Your Blue-Eyes is neat, but in this age and day 8 mana for an 8/6 Flying Menace is pretty 'meh', Baneslayer is a joke in Commander, 8 drops see play in Commander if anywhere, and I feel like this isn't impactful enough for a 'play and wait' card. I feel like you ought to throw something else in, but I'm not sure what. Akroma Angel of Wrath is a circa 2003 8 mana 6/6 that comes with 7 keywords, including 2 Protection From effects that cover a lot of removal, Blue-Eyes costs 8 as well, is harder to cast, and you get an 8/6, but you only get Flying and Menace with Pro <4 Creatures only, I suspect even when Blue-Eyes was a new Yugioh card his Magic equivalent should do something more. Maybe Ward or Protection from Instants/Sorceries?

I mostly talk about Blue-Eyes because I used to play a Blue-Eyes deck, it was lots of fun and eventually was one of the best decks in my small meta (I played until Paladin of Blue Eyes was new). That said, the cards I loved the most from Yugioh were the big juicy 'pay life' cards, stuff like Mirror Wall could be devastating (better than Mirror Force if you have a reasonable board!), Solemn Judgement was insane, both were cards people in my meta hated because you paid life (they never noticed that Mirror Wall was a Trap card or something idk, I had played Magic before at least), these were among my favorite cards, at least I got my Judgement really easily, they thought it was a terrible card, I mean, half your life for a better Force of Will, who would play THAT poop tier card (I obviously would lol)? Also, we need Goblin Attack Force as a Magic card, I refuse to settle for a mere Muxus, I want a hardcore gang of Goblin shock troopers that come in and beat serious face, then get lost on the way back home, I guess we'll always have Spectral Bears?

Vintage? Don't forget Spectral Bears! Almost playable Pale Bears too. Anti-black, anti-blue 'tech' from 20+ years ago... closer to Ursa's Block :-)

Any aversions to using changelings? I would think Chameleon Colossus immediately becomes one of your better bears. Are Spectral Bears too hard to find or too narrow? And including Beast Within and/or Force of Vigor gives some much needed additional removal.

Take out Temur Battle Rage for Battle Mastery. idk why you have Spectral Bears but definitely take that out for Spirit Mantle. Run Shield of the Oversoul due to its versatility, and take out Explosive Vegetation because it costs too much mana for what it does. Messenger's Speed, although not bad, will likely be redundant because you have so many other things that already give Uril trample, and for this reason I'd take it out for Open the Armory. Vow of Wildness is weak; sub out for Daybreak Coronet if you're willing to spend the money on this one. If you don't want to spend that much on it, get Spectra Ward instead. I would also suggest taking out Totem-Guide Hartebeest for Celestial Mantle. Finally, take out Fireshrieker for Gruul Signet.
