Instant

If you wait until after they've already gained the life, you've missed the opportunity. False Cure sets up a delayed triggered ability (you can tell it's a triggered ability because it starts with one of the words "when", "whenever", or "at") that will trigger for any life gain event that happens after it's created. It won't look back in time and trigger for life gain that happened before it existed.

Hi, if I wait until someone's end step to cast False Cure and they have gained 20 life in their entire turn, Will they then lose 40 life? Or will I have missed the window of opportunity and instead does this instant need to be cast at the point in they are gaining the life?

Spellbinder would work with a bunch of your instants and you have a bunch of flyers to equip. On your double strike boss you could go crazy. Beacon of Immortality goes off twice and then you knock out two players with False Cure or Tainted Remedy .

Have you considered False Cure / Tainted Remedy here? It lets you instantly headshot someone when paired with Beacon of Immortality ;) Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose is another good card which synergizes with your life gain spells. If you want large chunks of life gain to synergize with Sanguine Bond effects, Oketra's Last Mercy is one of my favorites. If you can afford it, Demonic Tutor is strictly better than Diabolic Tutor -- I usually wouldn't suggest DT on a relative budget, but it's VERY cheap right now due to the Mystic Archive printing ;) Cheaper than Vampiric, even!

Aetherflux Reservoir is another good way to profit off of life gain effects :)

They do have a way to deal with pesky life gain decks; False Cure and in a more permanent state Tainted Remedy or Archfiend of Despair , Everlasting Torment , or Forsaken Wastes . And there's a few more in red.

Life gain is already a pretty poor benefit, do you really need to make it worse?

Beacon of Immortality to keep your life from going too low and can combo with False Cure , Platinum Emperion so you won't have to ever pay life or if you want to combo with Necropotence

I love the art on Kwain, Itinerant Meddler. Such a flavorful card.

But every time I see it I want to make a deck with it, a ton of mana and Freed from the Real. Then get my life total 3 points higher than all of my opponents and activate it enough times to let everyone draw their libraries and gain tons of life, then respond to the last activation with a cast of False Cure!
