I guess Way of the Thief .

Are we assuming that we will be picking some Gates? If so, Way of the Thief is an amazing card.

Otherwise, we can pick Realmwright to fix for our splash color.

Neither is ideal.but everything else is pretty bad except in its niche. I do think that Hold the Gates is an under-appreciated card, but I don't think it fits in our deck.

Way of the Thief , then hope for gates. Though I may change my mind later, because we could use the mana fixing.

Realmwright It is a creature that fixes our mana for us. Opens up a lot of possibilities and means that those red cards are potentially not wasted. Or we could find other awesome splashables. Go with the creature who mana fixes imo! We will see a lot more ways of the thief which we can pick up later chances are good we only see this single relamwright.

I've changed my mind already. I kinda like Way of the Thief esp since this seems not to be a removal-heavy set. Unblockable can be a game-winner. But...I'm sure we'll see this card again late in pack 2 or 3. I see it a lot toward the bottom in draft sims. That and we've already passed a Simic Guildgate . Also, we may be splashing red, so that mana fixing is looking even more tempting. Good early game move, which I like to do.

I vote for Realmwright . We have a strong possibility of running three colors, so having another mana fixer in addition to Prophetic Prism would help out greatly.

I did see a Simic Guildgate in an earlier pick, but I don't know if it even can wheel for us. Way of the Thief seems nice but also quite expensive. I woudn't want to rely on the conditional unless we managed to score multiple Gates.

Next pick is when we see if the gate wheels. And it might. But I'm guessing it will be gone, but the Simic Keyrune will be there. Fingers crossed.

Realmwright the best choice out of the group for us. Way of the Thief would be great if we already had a Gate, and it's not worth the gamble to wait for a Simic Guildgate .

I'd go Realmwright here, though none of these picks are terribly strong for us. I have doubts that Way of the Thief would make it into our deck even if we had one guildgate, and we already have a couple of good reasons to want the mana fixing the vedalken wizard provides. Go go blue battalion!

Also: Realmwright has awesome art.

@ SupremeAlliesCommander while he is kinda delusional when it comes to islands... i think he is motivated to win just a wee bit more.. so my guess is that doesn't happen. In this case he would do the smart thing and call out Mountain... the clearly superior land.

Way of the Thief is actually very good. I've never drafted blue and been disappointed with it, and the conditional unblockability actually comes up a lot more often than one might think.That said, we do not yet have a Gate and we will almost certainly be splashing a third color. Mana fixing is good, so my vote is Realmwright .

Realmwright +Gyre Sage would pretty much take care of our mana problems. Then we could pay for the several X cards that Simic has.

Realmwright . Fixing is good. And I try to avoid drafting Auras unless there is really nothing else helpful to avoid giving your opponent a 2-for-1.

I don't think I'd run any of the cards in this pack. Honestly I vote we get rid of the Shadow Slice simply because if that does go off on us, it's super painful. Realmwright is...I mean, he can definitely fix our colors, but are we really going to need fixing like that? You can do a GU-splash-a-third deck just fine without that weird sort of fixing. Way of the Thief is just an unimpressive aura that doesn't really fit in our deck.

Shadow Slice is my vote, though honestly I don't care about any of the things here. It's chaff town here.

I say we snag the Realmwright just in case we can use the fixing. Seems more likely to be useful than the aura, but you could make a sound argument the other way as well.

Realmwright can help if we go to 3 colors, and its like a creature nobody wants to remove. It can help us splash white, or turn a 1 color hand in to a 2 color hand. It gets my vote because way pf the thief is unsynergastic and doesn;t really fit with the goal of the deck at all. In a dimir deck I would take it.
