how is Havoc Festival any good and how can i use him to my advantage?
TurboFagoot says... #3
Well first things first it's not a very good card.
But if you wanted to use it, just play an aggro deck that values their life much less than killing their opponent...and runs a six mana enchantment.
Really, run Sulfuric Vortex instead. If you're hellbent (Heh) on playing Havoc Festival, resign yourself to running a bad card.

Combine that with a strategy of life-gain for yourself while you have it removed from play, and lots of aggro and burn to damage your opponent's life total even more.
It's a six-mana card, so if you're playing Rakdos, your opponent should be dead before you have enough land out to cast it - unless you're doing the Rakdos control thing with lots of removal and such until you can bring out something big, like Sire Of Insanity or Master of Cruelties .

In EDH it's a pretty decent card in the 'Group Slug' archetype. This is often played with Kaervek the Merciless as commander, along with Heartless Hidetsugu and effects like Witch Hunt and Sulfuric Vortex inside the deck.

Well, you can do silly shenanigans with Platinum Emperion ! But besides that, you can play a lot of burn and once your opponent gets to be a low enough life, then you can just burn a person out of a game.

i meant in standard. and can it fit my i want your creatures for sacrificing deck? this deck has made me love rakdos. will Havoc Festival fit my deck?

Guh. Probably not, at least not mainboard. Right now in standard you're just better off beating people in the face. For the same total cmc Desecration Demon
and Armed
is 14 damage in the air, with about the same risks.
Havoc Festival
is a great sideboard against control, with Sphinx's Revelation
and such but then it gets Detention Sphere
d anyway, and you fall-back on Skullcrack
instead. Its also does less and less work the long its out. If you could ever cheat it out turn one or two, then it'd be worth it for any Red deck.
Havoc Festival
is probably not going to be a standard card unless they print something in BNG, NYX, or m15 that just works insanely well with it.

You cant play it in standard... period. It is just one of those rares that, while flavorful, is simply unplayable in standard. It's only home is EDH unless some ground breaking mechanic comes out in BNG, NYX, or M15 with it at it's heart, which I would bet any amount of money that that wont happen. So I agree with Dorotheus

...Why would you buy a card, let alone a playset, you don't have a use for.

You got ripped off... I assume you bought them out of a $1 rare binder at a shop? If you had done 15 seconds worth of research and looked it up on TCGPlayer, you would know the card is 12 cents and unplayable. I'm not trying to be mean, just letting you know that a little research can go a long way.

ok so Havoc Festival can not be used in a standard deck. i thought it could be a card to build a deck around. i was way wrong

I got 1x Havoc Festival in the Rakdos intro deck that had the foil Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch . The whole deck cost like $13. A foil Exava goes for about $2, and it also had 2x Guttersnipe , which are $1 apiece (pretty good for an uncommon). Otherwise, a bunch of jank.
Havoc Festival is like Gleam of Battle - really cool effect, but I'm not spending 6 mana on it.

You can bounce it back to your hand (Boomerang ) or exile it at the end of your opponent's turn and have it return during your next main phase, or sacrifice it during your opponent's turn and get it back (Regrowth ) to recast. That way it only triggers on your opponents' upkeeps and not yours.
